Contribute FeedbackLocated in downtown Burlingame, this Burmese restaurant offers an extensive menu filled with bursting flavors and vegan options. The food, ranging from pumpkin curry tofu to rainbow chicken and rainbow prawns, is described as fantastic and fresh by patrons. Despite some mixed feelings about the service, the restaurant is praised for its delicious dishes that draw inspiration from Indian, Chinese, and Thai cuisines. A hidden gem in San Francisco, this eatery is known for its accommodating staff, outdoor seating area, and unique fusion of flavors that keep customers coming back for more. If you appreciate bold and spicy flavors, this Burmese spot should be on your list of must-try restaurants in the Bay area.
Fantastic, fresh dishes that pop with flavors. I make a point to visit whenever I'm in the Bay area. Many vegan options. I love spicy and they definitely deliver! You also have milder options. My favorite is the Samusa soup, which is a large part, big enough to share. Burmese cuisine is a cross of Indian, Thai and Chinese, so if you like these flavors you will like this place. I'd give them five stars, but HC won't leave me because it's not a vegetarian restaurant.
The food deserves 5 stars, but the service brings it to 4. The food bursts with taste! And they have so many vegan options. I had the pumpkin curry tofu with coconut rice. Delish! But the service is missing. The staff is pleasant enough. But they didn't set up the restaurant to welcome patrons. There's a sign in the kiosk right in the door. But when people wait to sit, the food runners yell at the people to get out of the way and wait outside. I was up to use the toilet room that was near the kitchen, but it was used and I was asked to wait near the tables. Staff gives you the feeling that customers are on the move and have forgotten that we are the reason why they work every day. I'd eat there again, but I'd decide to retreat.
Good food with several veg options, plus the staff know what is vegetarian / vegan. Try the tofu kebat, highly recommended!
Staff understand vegetarianism/veganism, are sure to confirm that the items are veg when they bring food to the table. It can be a moderate waiting for tables, but if you taste the food, you will see why. My personal favorites are the tea leaf salad (no shrimp), house special noodles (with tofu), and green beans with tofu.
The Burmese cuisine at this restaurant is top-notch, with dishes that are well prepared and served promptly. However, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired.
