Love this place, especially the chashu bento. They give you a LOT of food. 2 bentos is more than enough to feed a family of 5 (with middle age kids). We really like how they include those crunchy pork skin/fat bits! View all feedback.
What Michelle C doesn't like about Chick-n-rice:
Really liked this place for the chasu pork, but the quality has been inconsistent since the last times we went. The pieces of pork are now cut larger, barely have any color, dry, and more fatty. The crispy parts are still nicely fried, but the meat used to be cooked and incorporated really well. We tried the unagi bento that also included rice, takoyaki, potstickers, pickled veggie, chicken karaage w/ lemon wedge, an... View all feedback.
Organice Chicken Rice was perfect. So delicious! Comfort food. Definitely hit the spot.
I ordered a quick bite to eat for lunch and picked up the order. The pickup process was fast and easy. Chick N Rice is in the same place as Ramen Shu. You can buy off of both menus. I ordered chicken katsu with steamed rice, broccoli and chicken soup. Along with the chicken katsu they let you pick 2 sauces. The chicken katsu was good and it was a good size. The steamed rice covered the bottom of the take out container and it was seasoned with what tasted like the chicken soup/broth. For this dish they gave me one piece of broccoli but a big helping of cilantro. The soup was very simple but delicious. It had cilantro and a nice flavor to it. They forgot to give me a spoon and instead gave me chopsticks and 2 forks so I would just suggest to double check before you leave if you are eating on the go and need all the utensils.
Everything here is really good. Sauces, broth, rice, chicken is always fresh.
Steamed chicken is served cold. Menu did not indicate it would be cold. Server confirmed chicken was cold after I recieved my plate.
Located in the El Mercado shopping center that houses Marina Grocery, Daiso, Sheng Kee Bakery. First visit I would give this 3.5 stars. Chick N Rice has a very simple menu of only 2 items: KMG Chicken Katsu and Rice fried chicken made with panko bread crumbs perfectly cooked and traveled well for takeout KMG Chicken and Rice simple boiled chicken with choice or dark or white meat or a combo. Meat was juicy and flavorful Choice of Dipping sauces: sweet chili sauce, lemon ginger and garlic sauce, soy sauce Popular red sauce spicy ginger and garlic Black sauce spicy soy miso sauce Didn't taste much garlic in any of the sauces as I love garlic but still decent flavors Rice didn't have much flavor and the broth I wasn't a fan of...just a preference but didn't even finish it. Sure I'd give this place another try but for now...3.5 stars and would recommend making a stop Chick N Rice is located within Ramen Shu. Parking can be difficult during the weekend as it's next to the busy laundromat so drive a little further for parking
