In the busy street of Broadway, you can easily miss The Waffle Shack. Always on the hunt for a good waffle, the kids & I couldn't resist a trip to Ultimo after reading the reviews. First of all we were impressed by the variety, enough to make you want to come back but not so much that your head spins. The service was absolutely exceptional, friendly and fast. Thirdly, my wallet was thrilled that breakfast for 4 (including drinks) came in at under $50. My children claimed that their hot chocolates were the best they've had (and they've had many!)Then our waffles were served. We tried both the Liege and the Brussels. The Liege was deliciously dense and cakey and the Brussels perfectly light and fluffy. The peanut butter sauce was sensational.Five stars all round, we cannot wait to return.
I tried the avocado and feta waffle with the orangeade. The flavors perfectly complemented each other. It was quite delicious. I would recommend it.
The Waffle Shack offers fast food that exceeds expectations, with fresh waffles baked to order with a variety of toppings. Located in the front of a convenience store, the Shack provides a pleasant dining experience with tables and chairs inside. The waffles are prepared with care and are as good as those found in Belgian restaurants or on the streets of Brussels. While the Chinese option is typical, the Japanese option shows promise for future visits. The Shack is conveniently located near the Broadway bus stop and is worth a stop for a delicious waffle, preferably a Liege without toppings to consider your bus co-passengers. The coffee is also very good, although those who prefer a stronger dark roast may want to opt for something else. Overall, this fast food establishment is definitely worth a visit.
This place does a great waffle, I went traditional, with chantilly cream, chocolate shavings and caramel sauce on Brussels waffle, you can't go wrong...however, what struck me even more is the quality of the hot chocolate, if you're a chocolate purist and it's more about the chocolate than the sugar for you, then you have to try this place. For over a year I have searched for decent hot chocolate in Sydney and now I have found it!!
