I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff was excellent, and the food was delicious.
I had a great time! The staff was wonderful, and the food was delicious.
I enjoyed an excellent local Witton feast ale here, which was a refreshing, nettle-infused, floral summer session ale. The wine selection was impressive as well, offering great value and drinkability in both red and white options—just like all the drinks available. The jukebox featured a fantastic classic rock selection, and the pub boasted plenty of seating and fascinating decor, with a diverse array of pictures adorning the three rooms of this charming family pub. I highly recommend the Sunday lunch; the roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, roast beef, and gravy were all exceptional—truly the culinary equivalent of Led Zeppelin.
This is a genuine country pub that truly embodies the spirit of the village community, offering a variety of activities. Unlike some pubs where newcomers might feel out of place, this one has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly, approachable, and engaging. A word of advice: bring cash, as they didn’t accept cards during our visit, and there's no ATM in the village. We city dwellers have definitely become accustomed to our convenient lifestyles! The range of real ales on tap is fantastic, and while the food was decent—nothing extraordinary—it was certainly enjoyable. The jukebox plays great music, and they are dog-friendly too. Overall, a delightful experience!
