Blackie's Restaurant - TUNCURRY

We went here last week with a party of 10 people. This is one of the more expensive restaurants in Forster Tuncurry but worth it for a special occasion. The menu is good Australian type food (steak, veal medallions, duck, lamb rack, fish, pork bellly), all mains are around $35, desserts $11, entree prices vary depending on what you get.All the meals looked really appetizing and my veal medallions were yummy, nice vegies (except for brussel sprouts) and really yummy sauce. Everyone else enjoyed their meals also. The portion sizes are huge so probably don't need an entree unless you're a big eater.The staff are really friendly. All our meals came out at the same time, although there was a bit of a wait, even though we were the only ones there. I think they also do room service for the hotel so maybe that's why it takes a while. My advice is book an earlier time than you usually eat and there shouldn't be a problem.Overall very nice restaurant, good outlook,comfortable seating, licensed bar, friendly staff and great food! Will definitely be back.

Enjoyed one of the best meals I have had here in Forster / Tuncurry. Coming from the Gold Coast it has been hard to find a good restaurant but this one did it for us.

We visited Blackies Restaurant on May 4 with friends from New Zealand to celebrate a Birthday.The Restaurant is very neat and clean and the food quality, presentation and service was excellent.Seafood is sourced from local seafood suppliers and is top quality alone with beef and lamb.There is a fully serviced bar service and the hosts are involved to ensure your service is of the highest standard.

Great Restaurant and the Motel is good as well. The Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, Very clean. the owners and staff and very friendly and kind. The meals are excellent and good value for money. Anyone who likes Lobster you need to let them know the day before hand so as they can get them in fresh. I recommend this Restaurant to anyone.

Lovely service but the wait for our meals was a little too long, with only 6 others in the restaurant. Husband & kids loved their meals and i loved my oysters. Will go back when in Tuncurry again but will take some colouring in pencil with us.
