Today we visited the restaurant with friends after going for a walk with our dog. We stopped by the cafe first to ask for directions for the walk, and a very friendly and helpful young lady provided us with a map and pointed us in the right direction. What Melissa Holmes doesn't like about The Waterfront Cafe:
This cafe is very large but only had one person serving on sunny Sunday. We turned up at 10am wanting a snack, but were told no food served before 12! Coffee was OK and resonably priced, however served in a cardboard cup rather than a real cup, rather disappointing. View all feedback.
After taking a stroll around Bewl Water, this restaurant is a great spot to stop by for a drink or snack. The staff is friendly, the coffee is delicious, and there is a lovely view of Bewl Water. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted indoors, but there are plenty of outdoor tables with equally impressive views.

We had a wonderful two-hour walk on a good footpath, which was a nice change from slipping around in mud. After our walk, we returned to the cafe for coffee and sandwiches and once again received a warm welcome from the same young lady. It was a really pleasant visit, made even better by the friendly staff member. We look forward to coming back, and I'm sure our dog would say the same if she could.
In these troubled times it's a bonus if you are able to get a drink while out exercising. The Waterside Cafe at Bewl Water is Covid safe. There's hand sanitiser outside, a one way system in operation and masks must be one. The coffee is tasty but snacks are limited and outdoor seating, with a good view of Bewl Water, is available. If the weather is bad, covered seating is avaalble.
We only had tea and cake but it was fine. Meals were available to order. There were only a few people in as it was midweek and November. The indoor seating is quite small but there are lots of tables outside. I think this place is much more of use in summer and at the weekends. Nice place to come back to after a muddy walk.
