The old carpet in trossingen offers good to very good home cooking, always tasty, pretty good value for money. a very stylish, historical ambiente, friendly staff, well-kept drinks recommended in any case!

*this review is for the "new" steakhouse alter krug. The food was bad. I ordered a Käsespätzle that didn't taste like a Käsespätzle. My boyfriend ordered a rib eye steak. He had to tell the waitress he wanted it medium because she didn't ask how he wanted the steak done. The steak was overcooked in a frying pan, was really thin, overly salty and dry. We had to order our drinks twice and she didn't even remember that we had already ordered and were waiting for 10 minutes. The staff was inexperienced and our waitress couldn't calculate our bill properly. Overall a terrible experience. We won't be going back there. It used to be a great restaurant with real schwäbisch food and now it's a terrible wannabe steakhouse & beer place. Also, it has worst beer than it did before.Very disappointed.

Tipical german food, very good cooked and nice atmosphere! The personal sometime could be nicer and more gentle, but if you like the german kitchen...Ater krug it is a very nice choice, for your mouth and zour wallet!!
