I had a tour of the house, it was ahead of it's time. Central vacuuming, air conditioning, refrigerators; back in 1917. Something we take for granted now, then no. Take a tour, it is worth it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Parvin Syal doesn't like about The Tea House At Parkwood:
Service was very poor. Food was ok. Asked for no pork but were served pork. The tables are not sturdy and tipped over with food, drinks dishes. What a nightmare. Beautiful hidden estate. The tea house is cute but has a small dining area. The menu is limited. Nice place for tea but pricey. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
I hope people can trust that the bad reviews listed are valid experiences and think twice about eating here. At $64/person your Afternoon Tea will be; 1) A hostile server 2) A blueberry bowl topped with cool whip and 10 wasps crawling in it. (I regret not taking a photo) 3) Sandwiches on stale bread. 4) Cold, flat, tasteless, salty scones. (Don 't be fooled by the 2 different flavors options, there both the same scone but one will be slathered in dried out blackberry jam) 5) Store bought dessert and pastries slathered with cool whip and blackberry jam to cover up that its all stale/dried out. The cream puff dessert that 's listed on the menu we never actually got ... maybe the wasps took it? Just a note to the restaurant, Afternoon Tea 's elsewhere charge high fees because it 's created and made fresh daily by trained pastry chefs. This afternoon tea isn 't worth anything more then $20/per person. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$60–70 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
I’ve had better high tea other places and the outdoor setting means a rainy day like the one I had when I went completely ruins it
Two stars only for a beautiful venue and great service from our server. My wife was very disappointed with the food specifically the afternoon tea lunch. $65 per person was way over priced, I wouldn’t value that more than a $20 a person, you get finger food and blah deserts. I need the manager to contact me for another visit to make up for this experience that my wife did not enjoy. I’m a good husband and you guys made me look like an idiot for spending my money here. I recently visited the Tea House with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance of the grounds was undoubtedly lovely, the overall visit was marred by several issues. First and foremost, I couldn't overlook the exorbitant price of the “Tea” at $64.. The selection was mediocre and the cost was simply unjustifiable. I understand quality comes at a price, but the steep prices here were difficult to swallow. The cocktail I ordered didn't stand out and was far from memorable. Another disappointment was the iced tea, which had virtually no flavour and tasted more like water. It's puzzling how a tea house could get something as basic as iced tea so wrong. On the service front, things were a mixed bag. While some servers were exceedingly pleasant (Dave), there was one who was shockingly rude. Their attitude was off-putting and cast a shadow over the entire experience. Additionally, the presence of wasps was a major drawback. It made it challenging to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings without constantly swatting them away. I do understand in the stunning gardens of Parkwood there will be wasps but perhaps a few measures in place to hinder them would help. In conclusion, my visit to Parkwood Estate Gardens was a delightful journey into a world of beauty, history, and tranquillity. The stunning array of flowers and the charming building create an atmosphere that feels almost magical. If you're seeking a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature's splendour, Parkwood Estate Gardens is an absolute must-visit just pack a picnic and bring your own iced tea.
