Laneway Cafe - Traralgon

We were disappointed with our experience at this café when we visited on December 30, 2015. There was a long wait of 45 minutes. My dish was flavorful but unfortunately gave me indigestion for the rest of the afternoon. The presentation was lacking as well. I observed a waitress serving my salad with unwashed hands, no gloves, and handling both orders and money. Their explanation was that they were unexpectedly busy and had inexperienced staff. Additionally, my meal was served without a knife and fork, which I had to request.

Our coffee tasted like watery milk mixed with instant coffee. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast, only to be informed after an hour that it had been missed. The staff were roaming around aimlessly. Never again!

We enjoyed the bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado toasted sandwich. The small lane way outdoor area was nice until smoking patrons came. We found the service to be friendly and gracious!

Went for lunch and was quite surprised at the range of dishes available and at very reasonable prices. Had small serve of the roast pork with the trimmings, roast pumpkin, scalloped potatoes, steamed cauliflower, carrots and broccoli. Two thick slices of pork which was beautiful and vegetables crisp, just the way I like them. A serve of both apple sauce and gravy on the side. Staff were very friendly and the café very neat and tidy. Have a seat by the window and watch the world go by. Really enjoyed my lunch here and would certainly go back again. Only complaint was that the meal was served on a small plate which left no room to cut without fear of something falling off. Would certainly recommend as they have more to offer than what is on the menu. Check it out.

Newly refurbished establishment after previous Mint Café closed. Incredible location in the middle of the shopping district. It offers a wonderful selection of seating outside and in... including the mandatory coffee couch. Credit must be given to the new owners on the changes to the venue... it's looking fresher. The service was very good, very friendly. The food and coffee is only average, but still... it's a pleasant sojourn from shopping.
