What User doesn't like about Shaw & Co:
staff ok eating, the worst ever could go to the local hotel and had better steak. when they came and got my unfinished plate, they asked what was wrong, but nothing was done! I traveled a lot around Australians had steaks and eating several. place, but this one takes the cake. Do they even know what good food is and costs me $95.00? will never go there again and recommend them also do their own a favor and dont go to... View all feedback.
Nice place to stop for a snack. Good variety of beer and wine. I only had the fries but they were certainly spicy and different. Very enjoyable.

A comfortable spot for a lunch meeting. The food choices are good. Because it was work I didn't look at the drink menu. Service was friendly. Food was yummy, though my colleague's chips could have been hotter.
Decided to go to Shaw & Co for dinner mid week. We had a few choices to go to and I decided on this restaurant and I am so glad I did. I have been here before but just for pre dinner drinks and cocktails. This visit we stayed for food. The service we had from both bartender and waiter was really good, both very friendly. The food was amazing, I had the Alfred Shaw crusted pie with salad and my friend had the fish and chips. Both meals were fresh and very delicious. We also had a few schooners of the craft beer Kirin, I think I have found myself a new beer I like. And, for dessert we both decided on having the Etons Strawberry Mess. Seriously, the best dessert I have eaten in a long while. If I can think of anything to add constructively, it would be to add a little more meringue inside the dessert, this would top it off amazingly. Give this place a try, I am positive you will love it. Next trip I will be giving their famous meatballs a go.
A pretty cool little nook in City Lane in the geart of Townsville. Has a nice range of beers and a good selection of food all well priced for what would be considered a reasonably up market establishment in Brisbane, Sydneh or Melbourne. Nice and open ambience with music that guess what....was not too loud! Well done and worth a visit.
