Description

Novo Era, located in Little Portugal, offers a unique bakery experience. While some pastries may not impress, dishes like Portuguese tarts and almond croissants shine. The friendly staff, ample seating, and reasonable prices make it a pleasant spot to relax. The coffee is consistently good, and the traditional croquets and sandwiches come highly recommended. Although some items may not be piping hot, the overall experience of this unassuming cafe-bakery is delightful. With a welcoming atmosphere and delectable treats, Novo Era is definitely worth a visit for a taste of authentic Portuguese cuisine.

This is the only branch of the Nova Era bakeries that is actually in Little Portugal. I've been twice now and have fallen in love with it. First I love that it seemed to be full of Portugese people each time. Second the bread was great. Third the pastel de nata are the best I've ever tasted. Fourth the staff are lovely and fifth there is always somewhere to sit. Will be back again and again.

I go there very often, while some days the staff isn't as friendly as other days I'm always satisfied knowing that all my favourites are with me, such as pasteis baclhau, pasteis natal, pao d'agua best bread ever, I refuse to eat or buy bread anywhere else, the best decaf expresso, best toasta mista sandwich, soups are amazing..ya will always go for my favourites there

We got lost looking for the main area of little Portugal so we stopped here for coffee and Portuguese tarts. The coffee was decent and the tarts were delicious! We enjoyed them greatly. The staff were also super helpful in letting us change some bigger bank notes for smaller ones and also with directions for the street cars.

Love this place. The food is simple and delicious. The staff are kind and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. The music is subtle, not blaring in your ears. The prices are reasonable. It reminds me a bit of what I loved being in Portugal as much as I did years ago on vacation. (I was a tourist; I'm not Portuguese. I live a few blocks away and this is like a respite in a sweet, pleasant place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stumbled upon this great place in the Portuguese area of Dundas West, where the bread and pastries are baked fresh daily and taste delicious. The classic Portuguese custard tarts are perfection. They are light, delicate and flakey. We had a couple of sandwiches that were filled generously and crisped in a panini press. Our lattes were strong and smooth. Highly recommended. Fresh vegetables on crispy, freshly baked bread.
