Contribute FeedbackIl Fornello on King in Toronto received mixed reviews from diners. Some praised the extensive vegan menu and delicious food, while others complained about mistakes in orders and poor service. Despite some ups and downs, many appreciated the variety and quality of the menu options, especially for those with dietary restrictions. The restaurant was noted for being a great option as part of dining packages, providing generous portions and tasty dishes. Overall, the food seemed to be a highlight, with notable dishes like the vegan lasagna and hazelnut Affogato receiving high praise.
The warning signs were all there when we entered. Mostly empty restaurant, but there was a snake at the door. Only one employee at this point and while friendly, she was totally stressed. Another employee joined, but the stressful atmosphere continued. Endstroh....if you want a vegan lasagna that is actually a MEAT lasagne, then this is your place! AVOID!
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Shortly after 15:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday the restaurant was empty, but not enough staff for guests. No good start! Although the server did its best, it was not a nice atmosphere to serve with its haste and to keep everyone happy. Then cold bread was made available. We asked for the vegan menu and ordered the vegan lasagna and a pasta norma. When we were asked if we could add some vegan paprika to the pasta to which we were destroyed when it was about coordinating two separate kitchens, we left it. The icing on the cake was that when the food arrived I was served a MEAT Lasagne!!!! With cheese!!! The waitress was persistent that she ordered vegan, but we just got up and left!
Wow! A huge vegan menu! Super impressive! We had the Pesto pizza with vegan Cheddar. It was pretty good, but not exceptional. I think the pasta dishes would be great.
The lasange was crazy good, tofu ricotta was delicious with kale and topped with homemade Cashew Mandel Mozzarella. Ask for vegan Parmesan coming to Tourteller! Vegan pepperoni pizza was amazing with homemade side pepperoni and very good eggplant tomatoes pasta. The hazelnut Affagato was incredibly creamy and tasty, would go back every day. Did not have been there for breakfast, but looks good as they do vegan eggs Benedict.
Upon entering the restaurant, warning signs were evident. The restaurant was mostly empty, yet there was a line at the door. There was only one staff member working at the time, who appeared friendly but was clearly overwhelmed. Another staff member joined, but the stressful atmosphere persisted. To top it off, if you order a vegan lasagne, be prepared to receive a meat lasagne instead. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
