This was my first time trying afternoon tea in Toronto, and it was absolutely fantastic! I loved the service, the food, and the scones—they took everything to another level! View all feedback.
What Robyn Ziemann doesn't like about Astor Lounge:
I went for the festive afternoon tea. The savory food items are premium and taste amazing. The sweet food items are mediocre with not much variety (most of them are chocolate based). I am disappointed by the desserts. The ambiance is good but the lounge is less spacious than other hotel afternoon tea places I tried such as D Bar at Four Seasons and Epoch bar at the Ritz-Carlton. Overall a nice yet overpriced afternoo... View all feedback.
A total of one of the best high-tee sites I have ever been! highly recommended, even if it is one of the more expensive high tee places in toronto.
Delicious food and had a great time with bestie. Only if there are more tea selections, then will be perfect!
First time experiencing High Tea at Astor Lounge and it exceeded my expectations! When the table became cluttered we mentionned it to the Team and immediately it was resolved. The food, tea and martinis were exquisite. We're looking forward to returning again and again in the future.
The food and desserts were very tasty. Presentation was beautiful. The only thing I would take a star off for is the service. It was pretty quiet when we went and the lounge was by no means under staffed. But we had to ask a few times for someone to come to our table to refill our waters and hot water for the tea. When we were done we waited over 15 minutes for someone to come over and ask for the bill. It just seemed like once the food was brought out there was no more service. Do know if you want more than one type of tea you will be charged an additional 7$ for each tea bag. Maybe that is normal for high tea but it did surprise me considering the price is $250 for two people with tax and tip. I would maybe go back for a special occasion, but I wouldn’t exactly say it is worth it.
The service here is not good. Our experience was not good. We did the high tea, and not once were we offered a refill of water, or a refill of hot water. Not ONE check up, unless is it to bring the order. When we wanted to pack up our left overs, the waitress seemed confused and brought us containers to pack our own food. Our expectations are that for them to bring it to the back to pack it up for us, since we witness the table behind us receive that service. (Same amount of left overs. When we asked for the bill, we were left waiting for at least 15 minutes, as we saw our waitress pass and serve other tables. She was not the only waitress and there was only 8 tables total. The quality of the food is subjective, we thought it was pretty good. But as you know, the service of a place can determine the whole experience of your visit. Astor Lounge, might I suggest you hire a customer experience management specialist and create a customer journey map for your company. Because for the reputation you have and prices you’re charging, it was greatly disappointing. I know we’re just one customer but we will not be returning, nor would we be recommending this to anyone.
