What Darian Witting doesn't like about Kobe Bay:
I've been here a couple of times but this time it was a little disappointing. The braesola starter which I love really saved up on the mushrooms. And they were plain old mushrooms, not the fabulous wild mushrooms they had in the past. I was amazed. The pasta specifically was salty and dry. The fried calamari and prawns were very salty too. The sushi at this restaurant is amazing! Make sure to grab a seat at the sushi bar and have a chat with Jason. He is entertaining, well-informed, and makes delicious rolls.
The restaurant is still open as we were there just last night. As for the food, my local friend thought it was fantastic.
A new Japanese restaurant in Toledo? My wife was really psyched to try it, and I was reasonably okay with trying it.
La Marea was a big surprise. We visit the area occasionally and the restaurants are fine. La Marea comes from Westchester where we have many to choose from and it definitely falls into that category. The food was outstanding and the place was very welcoming and comfortable. Can't say enough well. All you have to do is try it yourself.
Excellent food. The mozzarella and tomato salad was the best I've ever had. Shrimp and scallops over polenta were a wonderful and unique mix of flavors. The menu had a wide variety and the service was wonderful
