I had lunch with my 07 friends. We had our food in the air-conditioned area of the restaurant. I found the staff were co-operative. They never showed any sort of irritation while any of us used to ask for extras (papads, green chillies, onions, saambhars etc.) The food was tasty too and varieties were good in number. A good restaurant in Trichy Junction area for getting the best vegetarian food at a reasonable price affordable by all.
I was referred to this hotel by a friend, who is a food connoisseur. He suggested i eat lunch served on Banana Leaf with a taste that is close to Grandma's cooking (I hail from a nearby town), I was a bit skeptical with the view of the Restaurant (named Vijaya) until the food arrived. Ahaaaa... Great tasting lunch that is SIMPLE and RELATIVELY Cheap. Must visit place for lunch or dinner

My 10th visit probably. Unlimited Tamil meal on banana leaf. 5 or 6 different vegetables. Affordable. Recommend all.
Hotel AjantaJunction Road, Tiruchirappalli Cantt. | Near TTC Bus Stand, Tiruchirappalli 620001, IndiaI have been visiting this restaurant since 2006. Last time I visited this restaurant was in 2012 (after 2012, I am visiting Trichy in 2016 only). I find that the restaurant has been renovated since that time. The seats and tables have been changed to another style. The toilet is new and more spacious. There is a new ice cream parlor (glass room, on the right hand side, while entering from outside road), serving Amul ice creams. How do you locate Ajanta? At Central Bus Stand (CBS), move to the end where hotel Shri Sangeetas is located. From there, take left hand side (LHS) road towards old State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) bus stand. On this road, after about 6 buildings, you see Ajanta on the LHS. The restaurant and hotel is located a little inside, so you will see the road (and the name board) leading to the hotel. As the hotel is inside, you will feel that it is away from the noise and pollution of the main junction. There is good amount of open space in front of the hotel for parking. So parking shouldn’t be a problem.I haven’t used their lodges anytime. I have only used the restaurant so far. There is a separate AC hall inside the restaurant (I haven’t used the AC hall recently).Pros:The most important factor is the ambient: though it is located at the heart of the city, still you can escape from the noise and pollution associated with it.The prices are generally affordable. They are almost half, compared to that of Shri Sangeetas. For 2 butter naans and mushroom masala, I paid Rs120. South Indian meal is available for Rs75.The food quality is good, though may not be the best.Other than peak day/time, free table space is available and you can have your meal with peace of mind.I see many families visiting this place.Cons:The service is indifferent. The waiters wear clothes (uniforms) that appear not washed for many days. The attitude of the waiters is very lazy and indifferent. When you pay bill, many times they press you to provide change or small denomination currency. To summarize: If you can put up with the cons, this is a peaceful, affordable place to have food.
