I'm surprised no one has written a review of this popular chip stand. For years, we've been coming to this chip stand to get our fix of poutine. The fries are cooked perfectly - not too soft. A good poutine must have a really tasty gravy and is not skimpy on the cheese curds. Add the season salt on top and you'll be in poutine-heaven! Location is great for those who are coming or going to the Timmins Airport. Highly... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Chip Hut:
Tried calling in and they put us on hold. Fine okay probably busy. But left us on there for over minutes and can hear the staff just talking to each other. Tried to hang up and call back but then it wouldn’t go thru....Assuming they just leave the phone there so they won’t have to take more orders. Took my order elsewhere. View all feedback.
The Chip Hut is a seasonal food stand located at Levi's Foodland plaza... which just happens also to be the location for Riverpark Laundromat. So the Chip Hut is a convenient place to grab some fast food to consume while watching machines tumble their way through huge loads of cottage laundry. The Chip Hub seating area is attractive as far as fast foods stands go, with a six small park benches under a well-maintained attractive patio cover in a grassy setting. The menu is a tad less extensive than many other Northern Ontario fast food stands... includes fries; poutines (with bacon or without, extra cheese optional for additional $); a limited choice of burgers; dogs; chicken fingers; onion rings; fish'n chips; water; juice box... but no desserts nor ice cream. Prices are generally comparable with other fast food stands in Timmins. Cans of soda/pop are available from two coin-operated vending machines in front of the stand... $1.00 per can... which is a bargain, and available 24 hours/day.I ordered the Fish'N Chips ($7.99) with a side order of Onion Rings ($3.99) Counter service was polite. The fish turned out to be quite good... two filets of fish with a thin coating of batter, crisp and not oily. The accompanying fries were disappointing... limp and soggy. The onion rings were very good... crisp, not too oily, and the portion was much larger than I expected. I ended up discarding half of the fries, but ate all of the onion rings, half together with the fish and the remainder as snacks during the next 1 1/2 hours waiting for my laundry to spin dry.Bottom line... because it is handy and reasonably inexpensive I will probably go back again next time I am sent into town to do laundry. But I will definitely skip the fries.Additional note: I asked and was told by the counter attendant / cook that The Chip Stand opens for the season "early summer" and shuts down "early October". So if you are considering heading over near either end of the open season, probably worth a phone call before you do so.

Not my favourite ice cream The Indian man training the young girl was beyond rude.
I so badly want to give My Favourite four stars, but there are a few things that are preventing me from doing so.__My Favourite has been a neighbourhood
