I went to Damascus Donair with my two daughters aged 11 and 13. We had the donair wraps and the chicken wrap (forget what it is called) and they were delicious. They come with hummus which was amazing. Both girls loved their wrap, which they were able to customize (eg one doesn't like tomatoes.) There were small tables and chairs so we were able to sit outside and enjoy a nice breeze. The service was impeccable. We s... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Damascus Donair:
Stopped by on a Friday evening to pick up a couple of donairs and hummus. Cost $28.95 Prep area seemed a bit rudimentary as the meat filling was prepared on a small hot plate on a counter top and the salads were prepared off to the side. It looked like the food was stored in foil trays so it may have been partially prepared offsite. Not really sure about this. Business was steady and service was quick. I waited less... New owners, but looks like a great taste, warm welcome as usual by Syrian friendly staff, I was served by a charming young lady and her mother (probably), I guess they are able to keep the good reputation of the previous owner. By the way, the new brand name “Royal Aleppo Food” is as in the picture below. Congratulations, dear and good luck.
This place is amazing. Stop here on our trip from Calgary to Toronto and I'm so glad I did. As someone from Lebanon I can testify that the food here is authentic and really good, tastes just as they prepare it in the Middle East. The fattoush salad was made before us, really fresh and so tasteful, I highly recommend it. We also had soujok sandwiches that were great and spicy. The staff was also super friendly, I think it was the owner and his wife, they welcomed us and we had a nice chat while the food was prepared. Definitely recommend.
The couple running Damascus Donair is very pleasant to treat and they make something really delicious to boot! I would recommend anyone on the fence to try. And for anyone who complains that these are not traditional donairs that are really interested? This is a restaurant and almost all foods are open to interpretation. Your food tastes great and the staff is great, what do you need more? Are you going to Taco Time and complaining that they're not the right tacos? All in all. Great food, great staff and an even better price. 10/10 on my books.
I used to get quality Middle East almost daily in Montreal for 3 years. This small place replicates these flavors very accurately. I think I've got everything on her menu now, and all the last is hugely delicious.
This was my first time visiting Thunder Bay and I was in search of a Middle Eastern restaurant. Luckily, I came across this hidden gem. The restaurant was small, cute, and clean, run by a couple. I decided to try both the beef donair and chicken shawarma. While the beef donair was decent, the chicken shawarma was absolutely delicious! It came with a side of garlic sauce that was irresistible. With just one bite, I felt transported to Syria, known for having the best shawarmas in the world. The service was excellent and the owners were very polite. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes and I highly recommend others to give it a try as well!
