Contribute FeedbackDuring our visit, two other tables were seated right next to us. Additionally, a group of people nearby smelled strongly of marijuana, which was quite unpleasant. We also had a couple of flies buzzing around us while we were eating, and our server seemed unconcerned. The staff mostly hung out at the bar, and since we were seated directly opposite it, we noticed them frequently. No manager came over to check if everything was okay, which is typically standard practice. Our server spoke so softly that we repeatedly had to ask them to repeat themselves. We ended up spending around $90 on a meal that was riddled with minor annoyances that made the experience rather disappointing. We used to dine here about once a month, but we may start going elsewhere, like Tallahassee, where we can get a meal for less at places like Red Lobster. At least there, they can manage a reservation in an empty restaurant. We only get one date night a month, and to be treated this way was quite frustrating.
I tried calling to make a reservation, but was told I needed to do it online. I wanted to reserve a table for when we arrived, which was only 30 minutes away. The person I spoke with told me she couldn’t take our reservation because her system was still loading. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied. Seriously? She couldn't just jot down our names and prepare a table for two in an otherwise empty restaurant? During our time there, two more tables came in and were seated right next to us. One group had such a strong smell of marijuana that it was off-putting. Additionally, we had two flies buzzing around us and landing on our food throughout the meal, and our server didn’t acknowledge it at all. The staff mainly congregated at the bar, which was directly across from our table, so we could see them the entire time. No manager came by to check on us, which is typically standard practice. Our server spoke so softly that we had to keep asking her to repeat herself. We ended up spending over $90 on a meal filled with little frustrations—it was quite disappointing. We usually visit this place once a month, but I think we'll start going to Tallahassee instead. We could dine at Red Lobster for less, and they can manage simple reservations even if the computer is down in an empty restaurant. This dinner was supposed to be our date night for the month, but instead, it became a rather frustrating experience.
The catfish with Cajun fries is delicious! I also really enjoy their calamari and the Georgia Fuzz drink.
