At first I had some difficulties finding the entrance to this place. Came here at a fast bite at 3 pm and the place was practically empty as it was a weekday, although it is usually crowded on weekends and holidays. The service was good, but a little slow when it is overcrowded, great sea view and breeze as others described. The food is just good, but the best part of this place is the chicken stable that is for dyin... View all feedback.

This restaurant overlooks Shanghumugham Beach and has excellent view. People from an earlier generation will remember this place for the badminton court and skating rink. Visited the restaurant for dinner. Had to wait for a table. Service was very slow and the waiter was not focussed on our table. Water was served to us after food was served. Also, there was issue in the takeaway that we ordered. Cutlet was not available, though we looked forward to trying it. Ordered nool porotta, beef fry and beef varutharachathu. Food was tasty. Nool porotta is made to order, so takes time to reach the table. Pachamulaku juice was a medley of flavours, worth trying. We also ordered boost shake and lime juice, both tasted good. Dessert options are not many. We ordered sizzling brownie. The overall atmosphere was not that good, with a lot of noise around. Service needs improvement. The dishes we tried were good.
An amazing restaurant with a different variety of options for food both traditional and continental. The service was also good and the quality of the food also. They have different flavours of kombucha drinks also available. A must visit place if you are looking for a restaurant with a beautiful view from the sea
Me and my couple of friends headed to Sangumugham beach around 10 pm to take the edge off the intense heat this summer. We were starving and urged to eat nearby (Since it's a Eid holiday and late as well, most of the restaurants were closed, so we didn't prefer ones). Waiter rushed us to put an order immediately coz they gonna close soon. We ordered porotta, chilli chicken, pepper chicken. We expected decent quality food, but totally disappointed.. Plz provide the knife to tear the porotta . It's really hard and partly burned. .. Chilli chicken ,just okay..not bad Pepper chicken : Over cooked and poor quality meat. Worried a bit on stomach upset and we just pass on by hydrating ourselves. Dear Old coffee house please don't harm us by serving poor quality food. If food is not available/ not ready just say NO FOOD, we are happy to leave.
Excellent location by the Shanghumugam beach. Plenty of sea breeze. Tasty foods. Authentic flavors, friendly service. I liked the Appam and stew, fish fingers and fresh juices. Cons Chicken nuggets wasn't great The restrooms could be periodically cleaned. Lots of sand from the beach in there. There's a wait time at peak hours
The name coffee house evokes memories of a time past. So does this one. The taste of the coffee served is unique and identical in Kerala and in Punjab. The specials like mutton omelette still have a taste and aroma of a departed time. The waiters take their time and generally don’t ask you go away after your coffee. As in most places parking is on the road.
