I've heard this new restaurant has good marinated meat and congee. Come here to try. Since my husband and kids do not eat seafood. It's a pity I cannot try their signature seafood congee(this is for 4-6 people) I cannot eat it all by myself! The marinated delights combination is so good! They were really soft and tender. I like pork intestine and tongue the most. Must try the dip sauce, seems made from vinegar. It le... View all feedback.
What Edgar Landeroz doesn't like about Jiu Fu Cafe:
They recently changed owners. They look way too understaffed I waited like 48 minutes for 2 takeout dishes and they told me last minute they ran out of raw ingredients to cook with. Food is decent but I'm not returning. I just found out they overcharged me on my credit card for my last to-go order!! They charged me 111 for a meal that cost 21 when I swiped my card. BEWARE! The food was so so so so good! The egg drop soup is literally the best. Everything is great ? ??
Food is pretty fresh, beverage service is fast. They even ask if we were shopping in the area and offer ice to keep the takeout duck from spoiling in this Houston heat.
I’m a bit conflicted about this restaurant. One one hand its food taste very good, and their service is very good too, on the other hand, I had terrible diarrhea after eating its 生腌, meaning raw seafood marinated in sauce crab or shrimp). 生腌 is a unique dish representing the cuisine this restaurant is known for, so maybe people who are familiar with this cuisine 潮汕)have built up immunity towards this type of food. But, considering it has caused the worst diarrhea in my life, and I’m also Chinese, I have to bring this issue up.

Surprising find! Not an expert in chao zhou cuisine but loved everything we tried. Highlights include seafood congee, taro omelette (so unique and so good! Chewy crunchy all packed in this dish), 卤味拼盘, and stir fry snow pea leaves. Would love to come back and try more. They are pretty popular and arrive early for lunch.
