Last Sunday 25th September we visited Portico Bistro at Hiranandani Estate Thane. We ordered Sweet Corn Soup Rs 190 which was good. And then we ordered Cajun Whisky Chicken rs 380. We found it a little spicy. I feel they have added colours to it to look more reddish. Finally ordered Chicken Sizzler rs480. That was really bad. Some smell was coming from the chicken piece. Lasagna is really nice, must try. Good food overall.
Tried out this place recently and it's quite nice. The ambience is reasonably good as well. The menu has a wide variety of selection and that's a plus. Though, there was a separate sizzler menu which wasn't given to us and we had to ask them for it when we saw someone's sizzler coming out of the kitchen. We ordered: Caesar Salad: The cheese and everything came mixed but it was quite good. Veg Sizzler: Definitely a no go deal for this place. The sauce was bland and the it was full with rice with hardly any vegetables. Oriental Veg Pizza: The pizza was quite good. All pizzas here are made in thin crust. The only downside I found was the slight bitterness due to the presence of sprouts on it. The addition is welcome though. Staff is really good. We were there at 11.30 PM when almost everyone left. They closed the lights at first everywhere else except our table area which is usually considered rude in the hospitality division but what captured my attention was that they still asked for desserts when they had wrapped up with everything else. Place is value for money as well. Our bill came under Rs. 900 and that's quite good for the quality of food we got (minus the sizzler but something else would be definitely worth it). Definitely a thumbs up from my side!
I found the place over hyped than the experience it offers in terms of food. But it earns an extra brownie point for the ambience...We visited the place on a rainy evening, and the pool side view with the cafe lights looked gorgeous. It was a clean tidy space inspite of the rains.Coming to the food, we ordered afghani chicken kabab (4/5), vegetable cannelloni (4/5)and chicken sizzler(3/5).The chicken kabab was tender and juicy and was really well cooked but the quantity disappointed me.Liked the vegetable cannelloni,it was sumptuous with the spinach filling and was served with both white and red sauce and garlic bread slices and would definitely recommend to try.The grilled chicken in the sizzler was bit hard and the rice tasted blant. Also we ordered virgin margarita in black currant flavour and it was just real packet juice poured to the glass. The staffs are well behaved and attend you well.Overall the place wasn't upto the expectations.
