Dropped in for dinner on a Friday night. The place was really busy with raffles and a singer in the bar. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions, well prepared and tasty meals at such great prices. The staff were very attentive even on a busy night. There are different dinner specials (e.g. 2 courses for set price) and there was a range of dessert options. My roast meal was delicious and my husband real... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Bistro at Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club:
The group we belong to used to meet every month at this venue, until a management change with the bistro caused us all to think again. Every one of the 10 people there expressed disappointment with the menu choice, quality and speed of service. Won't be going back there until we hear something has changed. View all feedback.
The bar service was standard, but the overall service was appalling. In a group of nine people, one member finished their appetizer before the next one arrived, and this pattern continued until the last two people received their main meals. The other main dishes came randomly. The kitchen staff responsible for this chaos must get organized and ensure that all meals for a table are served together.
Embedded randomly and enjoyed king powdered cashew nuts court with the special fried rice. in a word, excellent! many thanks to the chefs for a beautiful and generous service. highly recommended.
The evening meal for two of us lasted 40-45 minutes to serve and when it was given to us, it was not hot. they were busy, but there is no excuse not to get quick food from the kitchen on a table. The food quality was only average, as that was a big disappointment. the special fried rice was also very steamed soggy.
We stayed for a few days and found this beautiful place for our Chinese meal and wanted a farewell, was one of the best meal we had, and would recommend to visit and try them out, can not wait to return. keep them the good work.
The prices are quite high considering the quality and taste of the food. If it was great food, I could justify the cost, but it is far from great food. The service is too slow, waiting an hour or sometimes longer for food to arrive...is not acceptable. Raffle nights are an even longer wait. This is not ok for adults, and certainly not acceptable in a family restaurant when there are hungry kids at the table. The staff look terribly under pressure and I wouldn't be surprised if morale was very low given their expressions. Wait staff are the face of a restaurant, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for these young people looking very uncomfortable dealing with dissatisfied customers. It is not their fault, management should provide appropriate training on how to communicate during busy periods when the kitchen can't keep up. On our final occasion, we attempted to raise our concerns and ask 3 times how long our food would be, but this did not help. The woman in the kitchen, who appeared to be management was not happy about us following up. There was certainly no offer of an apology. Dining at the Bowls Club used to be a regular weekly outing for my family, so we continued to return 4 more times after our first negative experience in the hope that they would pick up their service standards and quality. Unfortunately this has not been the case, and we won't be returning. I believe what makes it even more difficult is that they offer takeaway, which only adds to their pressure to keep up with orders, particularly on the raffle nights as I mentioned.
