We had a fantastic stay at the Auberge Sainte Marie-Madeleine. The room was cosy, and comfortable. Just what we needed after a hard day's playing in the snow. The Owners were very charming and welcoming. Dinner was great. The dog sled tour is definitely recommended. All together it was a great weekend and we will be back! Thanks to all. View all feedback.
What JeI86 doesn't like about Auberge Sainte Marie-madeleine:
Had drinks and only one special, which was OK. Do not expect too much in terms of service: the staff(owners? are montagnards and service does not seem to be on their agenda. Place feels good though. Must be great by the fireplace in the middle of the winter. Look fwd to coming back at wintertime actuially! The rent rooms, homestay type. View all feedback.

First guests to stay in new pine chalet simple but classy old but modern will stay in the new chalet anytime and can recommend for nature lovers, peaceful and quiet.
(Note: the rating is primarily for the helpfulness of the owners, I/we never tested the restaurant Me and my friends stayed here for one night last week, and the owners were very helpful! We were four persons, and we had a double room each. We hiked from Limone in Italy, to Casterino where this hotel is located. We got delayed and probably took a wrong turn somewhere, as it got very late, and we were a bit lost. We crossed over the top of the mountains, and crossed the border to France in the evening, around 20 21, and when we were unsure where to go, we called the hotel. Unfortunately, we couldnt really tell them where we were, and so we kept walking in the dark (with headlamps . We eventually found the correct way, but nonetheless the owners of the hotel had already set out in their 4 by 4 car to find us. A few kilometers from Casterino, at around 00:30, they found us and picked us up and drove us to the hotel. They did not charge us anything for this very helpful and kind of them. Since we arrived so late, we did not have dinner there. The room is fairly small, but clean and with a comfortable double bed in which we slept well. There was an electric radiator that worked very well we used it to heat up the room and also dry our gear that was for the most part soaking wet. The shower was good; lots of hot water with good water pressure. In the morning we had a typical French breakfast. For being a French breakfast it was OK; bread, butter, different jams, croissants (also the chocolate version , tea, coffe, juice and some spreadable cheeses. I am no big fan of French breakfasts, as I prefer contintental breakfasts , some sliced hams/meats, slices of cheese, eggs etc etc, but almost all places serve this typical French breakfast, so thats just the way it is All in all I would say that the owners were very helpful to us, rooms were good and I have no complaints!
