We were passing through Temple, Texas, from Tulsa, OK, and accidentally ended up at Cotton Patch. My dad had some business in Temple before and thought he recognized the place, but when we arrived, he quickly realized it wasn’t the restaurant he remembered. Since we were already there, we decided to give it a shot, and I can honestly say it was the best mistake my dad could have made! The food was fantastic, and the... View all feedback.
What Annabel Considine doesn't like about Cotton Patch Cafe:
Service was slow to start with, but when our waitress brought out our food, there were old dried up fries with the burger we ordered. She said you can start with these, but we 're making some new fries and I 'll bring them out when they 're ready. She forgot to add cheese to the burger and when I asked for it, she brought out a piece of cheese melted and stuck to a plate with a spoon to scrape it off with. I ordered... View all feedback.
First timer at this place. I'm here in Texas visiting my daughter who is stationed in Ft. Hood. I've been craving fried green tomatoes. I finally found a place that has them. They were fabulous!! The whole experience was top-notch. From the hostess to our waitress to the chefs and the food. Everything was exceptionally wonderful. My steak was cooked to perfection, the FGT were spot on. and let me tell you something else, I was also craving a salad and ordered a simple house salad. That salad was huge, practically a meal in itself and talk about fresh produce and REAL blue cheese, with chunks . I highly recommend this place.
The chicken and dumplings was SO good! First time every trying it. I got the honey BBQ salmon and it was alright I'll give it a 6/10. Sides were good but I got like a tablespoon of sour cream and the rest was butter lol. The workers were nice btw!
Thursday night dinner, wasn’t busy. Had to wait a bit to get seated as the greater didn’t communicate well. Once we got seated, service was good. Order was taken in timely manager, drinks made it out quickly, waitress did a very good job. I had catfish with fries snd Mac n cheese. The fish was great, the Mac n cheese was not, I only ate a few bites. Wife had chicken strips and she enjoyed them, granddaughter had the shiner fish and chips and it was very good (better than the cat fish). All in all we enjoyed our dinner tonight. TLDR: good food and service, worth a visit
Yummy chicken roasted braut! good cats. had home salad and love that they cut the gurkens and tomatoes into small pieces.
Haven't been to a Cotton Patch in quite a while, but will definitely be going back soon. The last time was the one in Waco. Although I had the chicken fried steak with steamed veggies, fried okra, the real struggle was deciding what twice sides to get. My friends had mixed and matched lunch, and I hear the meatloaf is wonderful. Everyone seemed satisfied when done. The waiter was patient and attentive throughout our lunch.
