What Sheila Stanfield doesn't like about Cheeves Brothers Steakhouse:
My date and I were there at Cheeves for dinner on last night. I was very disappointed about the overcooked 16 oz. Ribeye steak when I asked for medium well and it arrived with no red at all. Medium well is not well done and it is not like it can be sent back to cook it more. I did not want to wait for another steak to be cooked because it took a while for the meal to come and we had plans afterwards. Cook the tempera... View all feedback.
Quiet, intimate eating with under-high lighting and friendly, knowledgeable waiting staff. if they ask nicely, they have in the regular roses in the back if their regular florists are closed. I had the horse crust piles: damp flocks of mild white fish with a crispy layer of broth crumb in a white sauce. it wasn't hot or hot. I tasted the dill I love, more than the sear radish. the country style (with lumps and fells) red kartoffels were delicious, but the brokkoli was my favorite. I could have eaten a plate full of it. exactly the right balance between crispy and soft and seasoned to perfection. the hot, fresh roggen bread is enough to make everyone a repeat customer. my man had the black red fish with mushroom sauce, perfectly cooked on a bed rice. always a delightful experience.
The service was the Best I have had ever. Please ask for Dede. She will handle all your needs. Cheesecake was light, tasty and perfect. Thanks Again. Oh. By the way get the Filet Mignon.
Food was good, everything is al a carte, but a variety of choices. Got the seafood fondue and dinner for 2 and it was more than enough. I had wished the roasted mushrooms had a bit of sauce with it. We were not a fan of where we sat. Right by bathroom, but we could see there was a great atmosphere throughout the rest of the restaurant. Our server was great! Not sure Id go back for dinner, but would love to try their lunch menu.
A very good dinner enjoyed by our party. Service was good, not extraordinary, and the room is lovely. I had the horseradish halibut and while the seasoning was good the fish was tough. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their steaks. Wine list is solid and very reasonably priced. A great choice in Temple.
Absolutely disappointing. The service was good, but the $69 Rib Eye looked and taste the same as the one in Texas Roadhouse. It was a very thin steak, maybe 1/2 and definitely not a 16oz steak. I know what a 16oz steak looks like, and this was at most a 12oz. Real steaks are at least 1 1/2 I thickness. There is no way to correctly cook a thin steak.
