Despite some negative feedback, Safari Club seems to have a loyal customer base who enjoy the steakhouse and wine bar atmosphere. The restaurant is particularly popular for its ribs and attentive service. If you find yourself in Tamworth looking for a dining option on a Sunday night, Safari Club Bar & Grill may be worth a visit.
I am not worthy! I'm not worthy! The steaks are taste so good. Flame grilled.Comes out as fast as a well cooked streak should. No short cuts here.I got a walk in seat. Luckily ha! Friendly service which is pretty what you get at Tamworth ! When I'm passing through next I'm coming in for another steak!
Poor Tamworth ... Safari Club Bar & Grill boasts on their website "in 2007 were voted 2nd best Steakhouse in Australia on the lifestyle food Channel’s I LOVE FOOD awards" - There were probably only 2 contenders that year. The prices are what you would expect in an upmarket Sydney Restaurant where the staff would know what Prosecco was, unfortunately the person who appears to be in charge had "never even heard of it".The ribeye steak that they served was NOT ribeye, the medium cooked lamb rump was charcoaled and the pork ribs were way below what was expected, they were very bland. The decor is so very basic, it was almost vacant. The service was miserable. The food was very poor. The value for money was deplorable.Really, how can they justify charging the prices they do ?
We recently dined at the Safari Club Bar and Grill and service was good, food is reasonable but a bit overpriced. Quality is similar to what you would get at somewhere like the Outback Steakhouse. All in all a nice meal, but be aware of the additional 2% surcharge if paying by Visa. I know that 2% is nothing but I have an issue overall with paying an additional charge to use my Visa.
We had a lovely dinner here with family and the food was very nice. Based on the price, i would suggest that this is one of the best restaurants in Tamworth.
There's usually not much open in Tamworth on a Sunday night, so safari Bar & Grill is worth finding. This is essentially a steakhouse and wine bar. It is a tad expensive - AUD35 to 50 for mains - but judging by my meal, I think it's not bad value. I chose a 3oog rib-eye, one of the less expensive dishes on the menu. It came with onion rings and I added french fries and pepper sauce. I like my steak done medium rare.So ... a very basic dish ... but it was done perfectly. The meat was tender and delicious (and perfectly MR). The chips were great - real potato, not regurgitated supermarket junk. Only the onion rings were sub-par, a mass of coagulated onion and a little batter - tasting enough but with little texture and a large glug factor.I tried the house chardonnay and it was excellent. (Yes, I know I should drink red with steak but I prefer dry whites!!)Service was good even though the restaurant was very busy. Ambiance is really nice. All in all, I thought Safari provided good value even though it's prices are on the high side. The high point is the food. It's excellent.
