We absolutely loved the maskoof fish! The owner himself serves the customers to guarantee quality, which is a nice touch. The hospitality was outstanding, and they even offered free tea and lentil soup. It's too bad I only discovered this place last week before leaving Tampa; otherwise, it would definitely have become one of my favorites! View all feedback.

I found this place on yelp. we arrived at 11:45 on Tuesday morning after 30 minutes drive there. yelp had a 12:00 opening for lunch. After waiting for 20 minutes, I checked yelp again and they showed that they should be open. at 12:10 I called. a man answered the phone and I asked if they were still open as it was after the posted time. he said they would probably open at 12:30. very disappointing. directly above the... Our first visit to Tampa in about 3 years. We were looking for the Afghan restaurant along Busch, luckily we ended up here. First time we have tried Iraqi cuisine. This is absolutely the best, in our opinion, compared to Persian, Afghan, Turkish, Lebanese Mediterranean food we've had in years. We picked the mixed grill of burger, lamb chicken. All were excellently marinated grilled. The rice and the soup were outstanding. The owners were very friendly I wanted to add more tips, but he refused and said it we gave him more than enough. We spent $58 for a couple of mixed grills another dish for take out. Excellent food at about half the usual price. No frills, just excellent food, friendly service and at a good price.

Beautiful food and great service. Walk into the unassuming door and you will find a nice sized dining room with beautiful authentic art on the walls. We had no idea what to order and the owner was very helpful. He made some great recommendations. We ordered two kinds of fish (grilled masgouf and fried snapper) and they were divine. We also ordered dolma (iraqi stuffed vegetables) which was very tasty. What we really liked as well was the presentation. He also threw in two sides dishes (eggplant heaven and some great beans). If you like to try new foods with a unique experience, try this place!
The food and service was great. It was the best middle eastern food I've ever had. Definitely need to try.
