My mother for an early mother's lunch today and it was amazing. I've been a few times before, but it was my mom's first visit and she was more than impressed. We started with the Maduros Appetizer. My mother has the pig belly train mi (SO GOOD! and I had the pan meerrot tuna with peas shoot fried rice. We had to end with a dessert and decided on the maple ginger cream brûlée with raspberries and OHMYGOODNESS! We left... View all feedback.
What Suzanne “HighLine321 com” Zimmerman doesn't like about Kool Beanz Café:
This restaurant has lost its way! Don’t sit in the back room, because it’s so loud you can’t hear the person sitting next to you. The food has really gone down hill. I couldn’t even cut my steak because it was so tuff and the silverware was total cafeteria style. I hate to give this review because it use to be one of my favorites but definitely not now. Kool Beanz get it together, we miss you. View all feedback.
Amazing food! Our waiter recommended the trout and while I rarely eat fish, I was glad that I was adventurous enough to try it: not fishy at all; flaky, tender, nicely crisp almond (gf) bread. Yucca Pommes were very hot and fresh, although quite bland. Pavlov Dessert was good, but I really want to come for the Pandan ice!! UPDATE: Again for the second time in a week because I liked it so much?. Had the spicy black bean patties that were delicious, satisfying and filling, although very rich. Next time I will be for them with a side of rice and a few slices of avocado, and that 'll be absolutely fantastic?. Since I talked so much about lunch, I had no time for dessert and was quite full, so I have to visit again for the Pandas ice cream!
Excellent and Impeccable Service. This is definitely a True hidden Gem! I had the Lamb Sliders and my daughter chose the SalmonBLT! We were not disappointed at all. Highly Recommend!!!
My husband and I went to dinner here for our 32 anniversary. We had chicken livers in caramelized onion chees for our appetizer. The liver melts in the mouth and tender. Nabeby got salmon for dinner and I got a steak. Everything was very delicious.
Quirky Vibe. The food was fantastic. Auberginen-Appetizer phenomenal: thin and crispy (fried) eggplant slices with goat cheese, arugula and an amazing tomato jam with balsamdrill. So many flavors and textures! Kudos. The carmelized salmon with tomato jam, summer squash and roasted farro was good, but it was missing from the fabulousness that I started after the appetizer. Very big piece of salmon I felt enough for 2nd BUT, as it was definitely a healthier option, it wipes out the innate dessert, right? I had the butter milk panna Cotta with canned jalapeno, watermelon sorbet and crumb (I'm sorry, I can't remember the ingredient). Again many flavors-it was very good. And to be honest, as the salmon felt so healthy, I later took a dessert. The pavlova with Earl Grey cream and summer fruit: have never made pavlova, but it is on the list so I had to try it. Simply sample the cream (interesting) and pavlova. The microbier greens were an interesting addition and the sour cherries were perfect. Great service from Tyler (which recommended the coconut cake that was my third choice). Will definitely be back. And the menu changes daily?!? Pretty wide menu to change. The best part of the meal was definitely the appetizer. This will be the article to beat during my time in Tallahassee. Thank you Kool Beans!
But worth it. Prepare to spend at least $30 per person for just one duck. I have steak with onion rings and potatoes. The taste of each element was great. The bread was delicious. The atmosphere of the lateral dining room is unpleasant due to the layout with the waiters? Station and several entrances. It feels very confused and distracting. If I'm ever back, I'd ask to sit in another area. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating.
