Great views overlooking the mountains here (except it was cloudy on the day we went) Very friendly server. Food was mostly delicious. My only note would be the sauce on the salmon may be a bit overpowering. Thai curry halibut was great with actual spice levels in there. View all feedback.
What Allison Winslow doesn't like about Base Camp Bistro:
Atmosphere was wonderful but our server was awful! There was no sense of urgency and we waited 1 hour after ordering drinks to place our dinner order. We watched many tables come in after us and get served and cleared before we received our food. I was very disappointed with the lack of concern for our time. We were ignored and after multiple attempts to get water we did not receive refills. 2 hours later we received... View all feedback.
Beautiful view, delicious food and wonderful service! Our group of six enjoyed our early dinner (5:15). You do not take reservations so that you can get there early on a beautiful day. It offers outdoor and indoor restaurants with spectacular views of Mt Denali. We had salads, burgers, drinks, fish and chips and all loved their dinner choices. Samantha was a big server and very attentive to our needs. Perfect meal to finish a beautiful day.
Excellent food. Great service. All meals and drinks were excellent. I just wish the mountain chain was out. Have a nice look!
I fixed your hours, it said you were closed! What a jewel of a place where you can dive. The view of Denali is great! t The food and service was also great!
Great food. Great service. And a 5-star review for a restaurant that had only one power failure and was operated without computer and network (our waitress calculated the bill and the tax in her head because she couldn't ring the transaction! The food was amazing! There were four in our party and food included the Beast Burger, Halibut and Chips, Rockfish and Chips, Seafood Chowder and Halibut Quesadilla. The halibut was the best I tasted during our visit to Alaska. The seafood chowder was amazing. The Beastburger was delicious! They come from local breeders. The beer list was fabulous (for IPA lovers, try the 49. State Solstice IPA . My only complaint was that the bistro was not easy to find. Follow the signs of Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge (on Talkeetna Lodge Road, turn off Talkeetna Spur The hunt is worth finding it!
The so-called *beast burger* is not what the other people have posted. $23 tax, do not recommend.
