Then Salim was a teenager roaming all around the restaurant energetically very friendly to customer with fulktym smile. What User doesn't like about Salim Hassan's Park View:
We wanted to taste the famed Thalassery Biryani during our short trip to Kannur. What we got here was a disgrace to any biryani, let alone Thalassery Biryani... I am sure that there are many other restaurants in thalassery which will be much better, but this one almost spoiled our entire trip. View all feedback.
As a self-proclaimed food enthusiast, I rarely write restaurant reviews. However, after dining at Salim Hassan's Park View in Thalassery, I simply had to share my experience. Hailing from Ahmedabad, my family and I were on a road trip from Hubbali, Karnataka to Kerala. Our stop for dinner on the way to Kozhikode led us to this hidden gem. The owner warmly greeted us and recommended the best dishes from the menu, showcasing the state's culinary specialties. The diverse selection of breads and flavorful dishes served left us in awe. The chicken stew and fish curry were standout dishes, while the chicken kebabs were also a hit. The ambiance was quaint and innovative, adding to the overall dining experience. If you find yourself in Thalassery, a visit to Salim Hassan's Park View is a must. From the taste of the food to the ambiance and service, this restaurant exceeded all expectations.
This restaurant was highly recommended on some travel/food sites and fully lived up to its recommendation. We were welcomed by Luqman who, leave alone just assisting us with the ordering, actually took on the responsibility given we were floundering with the options. Everything he suggested...was spot on and no point did we ever get the feeling that he was trying to off-load any dishes on us. The selection and quantities were just right. The restaurant was clean, the food tasty, service both courteous and efficient and the prices reasonable. Its centrally located and easy to find. A good place to visit in Thalassery if you want to sample local fare. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to have a nice clean restroom. This would complete the package for a traveller passing through to stop over here. On the whole a good experience thanks in large measure to Luqman and his team.
Salim Hassan's park view' came on top of the suggestions list, when I took a driving trip with my family, to Thalassery on the Christmas weekend. We were driving from Wayanad and our hunger pangs had pretty much peaked when we hit Thalassery town at...about in the afternoon. The restaurant is in the centre of town. It was easy to pin on the map and we reached within min after hitting the outskirts of Thalassery. It was easy to find parking, since we got to park right outside the restaurant; Easy perhaps, since it was also a Sunday afternoon. Having built up an appetite for Kerala (Malabari cuisine), the aroma of fish being fried just outside the restaurant was the perfect start to our experience. Luqman (the owner) was at the door and escorted us to our table. the restaurant has an open kitchen and close knit seating, This I believe, is designed for patrons to have quick meals. Personally I prefer the aroma's of the kitchen and we really didn't mind the setting, it was some great food we were looking forward to! Not being aware of the restaurant's best offerings, I asked Luqman to suggest dishes to satiate our hunger pangs and palette. He suggested the meals with fish fry and two preparations of beef. The food was just fantastic and every dish was well prepared. In fact, I just had to take a second helping of a roasted beef dish. We ended the meal with a sweet lemon tea, perfect to keep me awake for a hour drive back to Wayanad. I also got an opportunity to speak to Luqman about the restaurant and he mentioned that they offered only on naadan' (kerala cuisine), which I think does make a difference in quality of preparation. Also, it is a refreshing change from a multi cuisine restaurant. While the food was just perfect for our palette, and the cuisine we were looking for, what stood out for me was the personal attention Luqman gave us and to all his guests Service from the heart' is hard to come by these days, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere only completed our experience. I am sure Luqman and his team not only prepare great food, but also genuinely love to feed their patrons. I surely look forward to going back, to try the other dishes they have to offer. I wish Luqman and his team the very best!
Wanted to order a parcel from this restaurant. I had to turn back after an argument with the owners relative?? . His behavior was most arrogant and unprofessional. Won't go there again and neither recommend to any one.
I went to a new restaurant near the railway station in the evening, which is not far from the old place. I tried the vellapam with chicken stew and it was amazing. They also had parotta and chapatti with beef or chicken curry. Unfortunately, the biryani was sold out by the time I arrived and they didn't offer any fish dishes. I definitely want to come back again in the future.
