Gordons Cafe - Sydney

Great location, beautiful atmosphere and personal, but unfortunately the coffee is not consistent. one day it can be quite good (but never great) and the next can be served teller water. if coffee is between $4 and $5 a cup, it's not good enough for me. I tried it because it's close to home, but I have to go on.

Gordons belonged to my favorite cafés in clovelly, so I regularly take my coffee and breakfast from here. a few weeks ago I came to a late lunch with my parents and sisters who had just a baby. I asked if we could sit down and order lunch because it was late and knew that the kitchen would soon be closed for orders. we all ordered the same salad to be faster and try to eat as soon as possible. when we finished our salads, the lights were switched off, and a few minutes after the bill was presented to us by the waiter. we thought it was a bit rude, but it's okay. when my sister, who was quiet at the time, asked the waiter if he preferred to pay up where we were or if it was easier for us to pay down, he replied: "I just need to finish and go young." We could not believe how rude and arrogant he was for us. I am a native and from now on I will go somewhere else we are treated with respect and care. Unfortunately, I can only have 1 star based on this experience, which so without doubt the worst I ever had in a caffe / restaurant.

What a hidden gem! the extensive menu was impressed with some unique ones. beetroot chili chai (very subtle but tasty pecorinco truffle leek dice eier. yum. the staff was so friendly and saw so many locals in and chatting with the staff was so polite. cass was especially a great server! can not wait to come back and try the lunch menu.

Had lunch with friends today. Delicious food, great coffee and wonderful service. Thank you very much.
