Triff with Mark on the ground floor (GM), which has taken the time to sit and talk to us about the direction of food and the shops. Prost is primarily a sport that is pleasant in its identity, and attracts crowds for the events shown. We got the Hawker plate and burger. Both were great. The Hawker plate at 22 US dollars is great. Reunion worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Imani Larkin doesn't like about Cheers Bar & Grill:
Staff are so friendly and the food is amazing for pub food and so reasonably priced I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stop by for a bite and drink or make a night out of it View all feedback.
Cheers has been a major pit stop for many of us over the years and through it’s temporary evolution of the 80 Proof spinoff, we rediscovered a great underground venue space that hosts a lineup of entertainment from stand up comedy to hip hop crew dance-offs to corporate functions. So it’s nice that it goes back to basics with what we loved most about it - Sport, Entertainment and Hearty food. Currently there is a streak of Asian in some of the dishes which makes sense, but all our old faves are still there. THE HAWKER PLATE is a mixed grill of pork belly slices and southern fried chicken. Its a great example of how it’s menu has streaks of Asian influence through it, as it shares the board with Thai/Malaysian street style peanut sauced Satay Chicken sticks - a welcome addition. THE VERMICELLI NOODLE SALAD takes you Vietname with the crunch from the bean sprouts and kick of slight chill and coriander with battered sliced fish through it! Mate had the NY BURGER: (Quote) "I went the double bacon cheeseburger and wasn't dissapointed. Not my preferred cheddar, prefer the American, but the beef and bacon were good. Bun was soft. Again, my dislike of sweet caramelised onions on a beef burger was apparent to me. Chips although basic were well seasoned.” - I love caramelized onion so this burger would have been up my alley, but I was very pleased with my choice! Lucky enough to be served by the manager himself, Mark and very personable character with superfast delivery times from the (I peered in) small kitchen! It’s like magic I tell ya!!! This isn’t just for NRL, EPL, UFC fans as there’s a great mix of sports lovers, carefree and corporates that come through setting a really relaxed and funky vibe to the place!

Met with Mark downstairs (GM) who took the time to sit and talk with us about the direction of the food and business. Cheers is first and foremost a sports, comfortable in its identity, attracting crowds for love shown events. We got the hawker plate and burger. Both were great. Hawker plate at $22 is GREAT value. Worth visiting again.
Not the classiest venue in town but it's a great sports venue and the staff are quite friendly, well proved drinks also, worth checking out
Can't believe it's taken me 6 years of my adult life to finally come to Cheers Bar! Meeting up with a couple mates on a Sunday arvo for a few chilled beers and a decent bar to watch the A-League Grand Final I was going to check out York 75 Sports Bar, but with themselves and Hotel CBD closed on Sundays (I guess Justin Hemmes can afford to shut on Sundays...) I bit the bullet for Cheers. I've always known about Cheers Bar as one of the best dedicated sports bars in the CBD, let alone in Sydney, but I've always gotten the 'seedy bar' vibe from it. Perhaps that's just a tag that comes along with a 24 hour license, and many stories from friends who've drunkenly stumbled in there at some ungodly hour in the morning. The place wasn't pumping for the final, which is fine by me. One of the reasons I didn't want to head to a popular pub. I wanted somewhere where I could have a bunch of beers, and engage in some good banter with my mates whilst watching the game. We headed to the second level after grabbing a couple pints of Little Creatures Original Pilsner ($11) and discovered the next greatest thing....$1 pool. We quickly set up at Table #1, right in front of a television that was broadcasting the game. Food wise, I was pretty impressed. I wasn't expecting any miracles from the food but they seem to have a pretty decent menu from a pub. On the bar they had a small clipboard of specials - not sure if daily or weekly. Just before the half time whistle, with Adelaide leading Western Sydney 2-0, and me somewhere between my eighth and ninth beer, we headed to the bar to order some food. Eyeing the specials, I saw they did a Lamb Shank in a peanut curry sauce. With me being a lamb fiend, and it priced at $17, I went with that. My two mates grabbed a classic and Mexican parmigiana respectively. The food arrived in good time, sometime in the middle of the half time break. My lamb wasn't bad, pretty tender and the peanut curry sauce was pretty sweet with a scattering of fresh peanuts throughout the dish. The rice was steamed nicely and helped mop up the sauce. My mates enjoyed their parmas nicely too. They looked alright and both were quickly devoured. They also came with a little bucket (note, little) of crinkle cut chips. The chips weren't bad. Soft and fluffy on the inside, but could have been crunchier on the outside. One mate commented they could have been a little saltier. Overall, I was pretty impressed with Cheers Bar. The service at the bar is friendly and fast. The foods not too bad for the prices, and all in all it's a neat little bar for beers and watching live sports. I'm not sure if they're allowed to trade 24 hours any more with the lockout laws, I highly doubt it, but they're still a popular venue to go watch live sport. They're also the home of a couple of English football team's ex-pat supporter base. Liverpool FC & Leeds United automatically come to mind. I'll be back for sure. You can't beat $1 pool on Sundays!!!
