Excellent food and service ! this was definitiely one of the best Indian restaurant that we visited in Nova Scotia. Small place but the food was excellent and the service was kind. We ordered the tandoori chicken, some naans, chicken korma and rice and the flavors were so good. Would definitiely love to be back again if we are in the area ! View all feedback.
What Riley Boudreau doesn't like about Swaagat- The Real Taste Of India:
I?ve ordered Tandoori Chicken from here quite a few times. It was delicious and the staff were great anytime I was in. But my most recent experience involved biting into very undercooked chicken. Can?t say I?ll be ordering here again. View all feedback.
We ordered something for breakfast on the phone at 1045 and they said it was closed but they took they order and said u will get it at 1115 once they r open. We reached there by 1120 and the my said that it will take another 30 mins.if they are busy with something else they should have said NO as it would have saved our time. This is not the first time it’s happening to us. We love the food there, but they have to improve their customer service.
Poor customer service and unprofessional staff behaviour (By the manager). A person of the restaurant (swagath sydney)who worked the night of November 30th was unfriendly and quite insulting towards the guest. He replied to us that he was the manger when we asked If we could see the manager.A friend who was with me had asked the manager to increase the heater a little as it was cold and the manager replied that they had no heating vents, which was clearly a lie as they had a air conditioning system which was visible to everyone. The manager brought unsanitary and unclean plates for us (which had visible stains on it)to eat from and we requested if he could wash it to which the manager replied “NO”. After that, while we were eating, the manager started to sweep the floor with a dust sweep very close to us making it unhealthy and difficult for us to eat with the dust in the air.I told him that I’ve been a resident of Sydney from 2019 and Ive been a longtime customer of swagath and never have I ever complained about anything, and I let him know about that so he could see his fault.I let the manger knew it was a bad service and my friend asked him respectfully why he was sweeping dust next to us (while eating)to which the manager replied “If you don’t like the service, go and don’t come back” . This proved to me that Swagath, if run by this manager in question, will insult their guests, provide them unhealthy and unsanitary food service and ask them to leave the place. Apart from that, I have no complaints about swagath, its an awesome success story and used to be a great restaurant until yesterday(November 30th).
Tonight was my first time I've ever eaten here. The food and service was amazing. I highly recommend it and I look forward to returning again very soon.
Please don't order the Biryani. I ordered and it was really really bad. They mixed very old chicken curry with white rice. The chicken smelled bad and the rice was not even basmati rice.
The 2nd Indian restaurant I've tried while visiting Sydney over the holidays 2022 and definitely better than the other place tried, not to be named. Here was empty at about 6:30 on Boxing Day. A handful of basic tables, casual atmosphere, lighting quite bright. Friendly server. The first thing my friend ordered (a Tandoori item) was not available. I ordered Palak Chicken and was told they had to ask if it was available. Not a great first impression, but luckily mine was available in the end. It was your standard stainless steel serving dish with side of rice, flavorful and decent. I asked for spicy, and it was, but not overly. My friend ended up ordering the chicken curry, I believe, and was happy with it. We also ordered a butter naan and garlic naan, but both seemed identical, were ok/bit greasy. I was very full and couldn't finish mine. My main suggestions would be to dim the lights a tad at night, have staff mention any unavailable items when the menu is brought to the table initially, and increase bathroom cleanliness/marks all over the walls. I'd come here again if I lived in Sydney, to try more items, probably at lunch or for take-out.
