The family-run Gateway Hotel in Swinford, County Mayo offers a relaxed and welcoming bar that serves delicious home-cooked food daily from 7.30am to 9pm. From full Irish breakfasts and sandwiches to carvery lunches and a refined evening a la carte dinner, there are also menus for children with treats and activities. The intimate dining room is open every Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm to 9pm, and is also available for private occasions throughout the week. Our goal is to provide great food served professionally in a friendly atmosphere, ensuring that our customers leave happy and satisfied, eager to return.

The staff are fantastic however the owners should not have staff working alone. One person attending to breakfasts is run off her feet. Safety dictates two people. Gracie at the bar was fantastic but again only two people serving a full restaurant is not enough. Someone will get hurt.
Had a meal one evening with a friend had caeser salad to start and found a long hair in middle of it which put me off..(maybe all kitchen staff need to wear hair nets) ...but apart from that i couldnt complain about other dishes..tasty and good presentation...young staff very nice and attentive..

Recently organized a company Christmas party event, hosted in the fabulous , Gateway Hotel located in the centre of Swinford, the team catered to all our requirements, providing exceptional service from planning the event to check out. Everything from food, the reception room, drinks, the service , the rooms was excellent, and would highly recommend for group company events.
