What Scott T doesn't like about Umaido:
Umaido just cannot get it right. Sometimes great, often terrible. As of NOV 2023.... Terrible Greasy fatty broth. Diarrhea city. Don't they know that they need to skim the fat off the broth after it's simmered all night? Sure they do... but why throw away the fat when you can charge your customers for it? I visited this restaurant for the first time today and it was so amazing! it is scary to taste a restaurant for the first time and joanna made it such an amazing experience! the garnelentempura roll is very tasty, and I have the ultra spicy rams that was also good and the chicken breast. I will be back in any case! I will say with covid, it is probably best to take the food to go because of the limited sitting opportunities in the restaurant.
Umaido is delicious. I love it so much. we drive all away from lagrange, and it is worth it. they have the best broth, noodles, and roasted pigs. it is just a bowl of comfort honest.
Came here for lunch with friends and ordered the mild curry rays with shrimp katsu! The curry is herbal based and was so thick, creamy and tasteful....
After 10 years stopped because I heard the food got better and because I was curious to see why there was always a line here. FOOD: Takoyaki...
