This homey restaurant was an excellent choice. It is on the edge of the red light district but not to worry. Take a cab. The food was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. We met locals and had a most fantastic conversation....Enjoy. View all feedback.
What Anita Vogt doesn't like about Weinstube Fröhlich:
Recommended by Booking.com as a must-do when in Stuttgart, the place turned out to be a bit overpriced and the food we ordered not really worth the money. It wasn't bad and the staff were nice, but I would definitely have considered going somewhere else...had I known what I know now. View all feedback.
Nice place, good food. More speaking English (only one person spoke), all people were super nice to us! A place to go back
A beautiful place with a very nice staff. A bit expensive, but the food is worth it. Amazing Swabian cuisine.
Amazingly, I tried to pay my card for a beer, but unfortunately they can only use card for over €20. They let me have the beer for free and wished to enjoy my stay in Germany! Wonderful staff!
We went to this restaurant with a group of friends on local recommendation. Good quality and abundance of food in your dish characterises this restaurant which in located in the “red light district”. Personal does whatever possible to satisfy visitors, decor is anonymous but nice...in a nutshell a traditional “Weinstube” as those you could find in the past ..
Fabulous restaurant located in a slightly dodgy res light area so there were a lot of men hanging around on the street outside. Once inside however it was a different atmosphere. The experience didn’t start too well as they had the wrong number of people...I made the reservation even though I had email confirmation. Therefore when we arrived, they had seated people at our table and told us we needed to wait until they finished eating they had only just ordered drinks! before we could have the table. Luckily they moved them to another table and we were able to sit down and start our dining experience. The waiter we had was really nice, he took the time to explain the menu and translate for us. He kindly told us that the schnitzel main we wanted was very big so if we had a starter as well that it was better to share a main and order a side dish. We had the schnitzel which came with potato salad and ordered a cheese spätzle side. There were of us and we ended up two each of the recommended deserts apple bread and butter pudding and the gingerbread ice cream. All the food was delicious and well cooked accompanied by a “local hero” Riesling recommended by our waiter. The bill was very reasonable each including service considering how much food and wine we had. The ambience inside was lovely; dark panelled walls and proper candles. Attentive service that was nonintrusive was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend you eat here but definitely check that you have confirmed your reservation
