Kazu Sushi in Studio City has garnered a mix of reviews, but one thing that stands out is the food. Many patrons rave about the exceptional quality of the sushi, praising the omakase options and the variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. Kazu, the master chef, has been making sushi for over 20 years and his expertise is evident in the outstanding dishes served at the restaurant. While some reviewers mention the lack of traditional cut rolls, others appreciate the authenticity of the menu and the focus on traditional sushi dishes. The ambiance may be on the simple side, but the food speaks for itself. Overall, Kazu Sushi seems to be a top choice for sushi lovers looking for a high-quality dining experience in Studio City.

Outstanding sushi by a master chef. Pricey but well worth it. Been going here for 19 years and it never fails to be excellent. Anyone who is well versed in Japanese cuisine and culture will recognize Kazu's value.

Good but no cut rolls. The food is tasty, though there are cheaper sushi options within a couple of blocks.<br/ <br/ The one thing I didn't love is that they don't offer cut rolls, fine, and were very very reluctant to bring us a knife to cut our hand roll in half so my friend and I could both taste it. Oh well...

A gem in a sea of very crowded sushi in the area. The prices are a bit higher but it's one of the top 2-3 sushi restaurants that my wife and I have been to. We chose ala-carte as we're not huge rice eaters and stuck to mostly sashimi dishes. From thebuttery smooth melt in your mouth Toro to the slightly charred wagyu that was like visiting heaven you can't go wrong. I thinkwe tried about all of the sashimi dishes and a few sushi options, try the skip jack it was excellent! You aren't going to getcalifornia rolls at this place and for good reason. If you want legit sushi like you'd get in Japan, this is your spot.

Really wanted to like the place, the chef tries hard, but the lack of customers kills sushi restaurants. Fish just not fresh and the variety is low. For $150 each, lot of choices elsewhere.
