Eggers Ice Cream Parlor - Staten Island

Thanks to their policy I just left with two kids in tears. I bought a birthday cake for my nephew?s 8th birthday. After paying for it I asked for spoons and plates so we could eat it there. I was then told we were not allowed to eat our $50 small cake because we were not an official ?birthday party? although that policy wasn?t stated anywhere, nor were we informed prior to seating. Essentially, I could have bought ice cream for a fraction of the price, and then we would have been allowed to eat there. The employees also called the owner who stood by her antiquated policy, and we left with a disappointed birthday boy and a crying toddler.

Ice cream is amazing. Never had a bad experience with the food. I thoroughly enjoy it. However. I've been there twice in the last month and both times I had to hunt down a worker because we were forgotten about in the dining area. So not only was it a long wait until a worker tended to us. But then it's another long wait for the ice cream. So what should be only a half hour dining experience (for 2 people) has become an hour and a half. The staff are friendly, and I know they're trying. But management needs to help them work on timing and efficiency.

I have been going to eggers since I was a kid. I am not even a huge ice cream fan but eggers is my favorite. I love the banana ice cream. I ordered a quart which was $12.49 when I got home it wasn?t even full. It was maybe a little more than 1/2. Very disappointing for the price. I live in NJ so going back that day wasn?t an option : I am equally disappointed that they charged me $6 for a side of whipped cream.

Went there today and ordered 4 orders. Spent a total of about $55. Get home to find barely any ice cream in the waffle bowls and a waffle bowl not even full or intact. I also ordered chocolate fudge as a topping to one of my other orders and it was never added. I?m never going here again. The staff is also rude. I was standing there waiting to order for a while and when someone finally came to the cash register, she took the order of another customer that came after to me. I also overheard the customer ask the cashier if he could change his flavor and the cashier said ?I already put it in the system? I?m sorry what?!?!? You can?t just literally change the flavor you?re about to put in the cup or cone? Eggers you really need to do better. Your prices are overpriced so I would expect the quality of your ice cream and customer service to be above and beyond. Very disappointed.

The reason for 1 star. 1 star because the cream is decent but 4 lost starts for the way the owner and Managers treat their employees. Hiring teenagers who are looking for extra cash and not fairly following the laws of labor. And when you call out Managers for taking advantage of the staff they are known for making it a hostile environment or even fired for standing up for yourself. Do right by your staff Eggers Management Team a lot of them are not exactly the happiest.
