It's clear that the chef is highly creative, skillfully combining traditional recipes with modern twists. This delightful blend of the familiar and the exotic makes dining at Searles Garagista a truly unique experience. The ever-changing blackboard menu showcases a variety of dishes influenced by global cuisines, featuring fresh and innovative ingredients. From Mediterranean-inspired Labneh with fermented confit tomatoes on bruschetta to Panko-crusted prawns paired with Japanese mayo, each dish tells a story of culinary exploration and creativity. The use of fresh and sometimes unexpected ingredients—like wild asparagus, edamame beans, and waterblommetjie—demonstrates a commitment to sourcing high-quality produce and a desire to surprise and please the palate. The menu also highlights beloved traditional dishes, such as Bobotie and Ossobucco, often with a refreshing twist. Overall, the menu can be described as both inspired and creative, reflecting a culinary journey that respects tradition while welcoming innovation. I’d give it 10 stars if I could, but I’ll settle for the 5 that they allow!

A fantastic restaurant with a unique, personal touch. Both the food and the great interior have a beautiful character. The waiter was also very nice, open for a chat and telling us about the restaurant d the city. The trinchado and the craft-beer are a must-try. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
