What Janna Y doesn't like about Cliff House:
This restaurant was terrible! The tables were dirty and we had to ask multiple times for them to be cleaned. The waitress finally came and cleared our table, but seemed rushed and the food and service were both subpar. I will never eat here again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Save yourself the trouble! View all feedback.

I had meat jam, he had chicken meat fried steak. both came with a bluish, green bean, maize, kartoffel and chocolate cake. oh and sweet roll and maisbrot! our server was very pleasant and fast. not too sure how our drive causes as I am ready for a little nod. I'd eat here again. my man just said I am full bathroom could use a little more light. only one light bulb in the shot.
Don't go here. Went in for a late lunch with my family during the week and they had one entire section closed. We were told to sit anywhere but there were no clean tables. So we had to wait for them to wipe down a table. I don't know that I would call it clean. We sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. No one came to take our drink order at all. We made eye contact with the wait staff to see if they would come over but nothing. After sitting and watching everyone else get waited on we got up and left. No one that worked there seemed to bat an eye. We review no apology or anything. Sad as we had a rather large party and I'm sure this place could have used the money. This will be the very last time we go here. We left and went down the street to the local Subway and got much better service there. So don't waste your time and go somewhere else in town. The frustration isn't worth it.
I came in from Dallas for the Texas Cowboy Reunion and ate lunch with friends before the parade. The quirky mid-century modern building was a surprising location for a perfect southern homecooked-style meal. I ordered the catfish strips which were served crisp and piping hot with a green salad, fluffy rolls made from scratch, ham-seasoned pinto beans, and whipped sweet-relish potato salad. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. My friend ordered the Buie Burger which was served on massive sourdough slices and accompanied by hand-cut fries- it was awesome! This it's small-town dining at its best.
Lovely people, lovely west texas cowboy atmosphere, and scrumptious, down home cookin'! I highly suggest for anyone passing through! I grew up in Stamford and remember when you couldn't leave without smelling like smoke and grease, but I've visited twice since it reopened and it's been scrubbed, painted, ventilated and you leave smelling just like you did when you arrived! The rolls are a must!
I enjoyed my lunch here on a very wet Friday afternoon. The service was good and the chicken fried steak was just the kind you think of coming from a southern comfort food diner. The corn bread was delicious and the rest of the sides were simple but well made. To me it was a small town's version of Cracker Barrel, only without the mechanical wheels that run a large chain. Real down home country people, nothing more, nothing less
