Visited for our anniversary, was surprised to see it the quietest I ever have in my dozen or so visits. One word. Delicious. A real gem of a place. Their black pudding starter is a must, as are many other dishes, though to be fair. The hosts ate friendly and happy to chat through dishes. It is our 'go to ' place now, as we 've never been disappointed. Just a tip, when busy, parking can be a bit tight, so car share if... View all feedback.
What Eden Morgan doesn't like about Wheatsheaf:
Very average food. But mainly just disappointed to see staff without face coverings. Won’t visit again unless this changes. Staff friendly but it’s just not enough at the moment. Sorry. View all feedback.
Planning a funeral is so very stressful. The last chance to say goodbye. The wheat sheaf was full of family and friends who were served a superb buffet, the staff ensuring that everyone was well fed. The management could not have been more attentive polite and patient. Gentle ambient back ground music and spotlessly clean venue. A beautiful location and we absolutely will return on our next visit to Stone. Thank you.
Couldn't have been happier to find this place, my hubby googled a place to eat nearby and The Wheatsheaf came up 1st. 1st class food, we went the next week and not disappointed. We intend to try all the menus. Staff are all friendly and attentive to your needs, the only thing I would say is, not to ask us if we're enjoying our meal when we're less than 3 minutes into it. Food is always piping hot, decor is great, warming atmosphere. Well done.
Beautiful little country pub, owner is friendly and greeted us on arrival. Good menu lots of choice and food was delicious and served so beautifully! Obviously have some great chefs and work hard to get things bang on! Will definitely visit again!
Wow!, just had the best lunch at the Weatsheaf. Quality, value and service was brilliant. It was our first time and chose it as it’s rated number 2 in Stone. A simple ham tomato sandwich turned into a quality meal. Ham, egg chips brilliant. Cannot wait to go back try the a la carte menu.
NEW Ok short and sweet , not been for few months reviews looked good so give a go. Did not go well we ordered starter to share that was fine. Main course One mushroom stroganoff and one sizzling platter chill beef. We were served beef stroganoff and one non sizzling plate of not crispy beef. Staff want to get it right and return my beef my husband stayed with his dish as doesn’t like to fuss . They then returned with the most cremated plate of food I’ve ever been served ! Why did they think that was ok and why serve it. They said chef new and Spanish and interpretation problem. Obviously didn’t eat food and found it quite odd staff insisted they were sorry and would not be charging me for my meal that I did not have. When leaving I did say that obviously I wouldn’t pay for a Meal I did not have but why not do something to compensate for the fact I did not have my meal and paid for starter , drinks and incorrect main course for husband !!! Incredulous you have a long way to go and you were not busy we were one of two couples eating. Not impressed at all
