Such good food here! Been loads of times but finally decided to leave a review. Really good prices and even better better food! One of the first places I'd go for a curry! View all feedback.
What lyndaa562 doesn't like about Spice Island:
Honestly, I was quite disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow, my rice was served cold, and my starter order was incorrect. Due to the long wait times, I didn't feel comfortable complaining. Additionally, I was informed that I could not receive an NHS discount due to the "Eat Out to Help Out" promotion. On a more positive note, my daughter really enjoyed her meal. View all feedback.
The taste of the food is very good except Biryani. The Biryani was not fully cooked. We have tried tandoori Chicken, palak paneer, naan, it was good. Time taken to server the food is too long.
Great food and a nice clean bright environment with very welcoming wtaff. Will be back soon.
Ordered three meals on a Thursday evening. It took almost TWO HOURS!! When I called after an hour and a half they explained they had a busy restaurant and the meals would be 10 minutes. When the meals finally arrived almost TWO HOURS after placing the order, it was very clear they had lost our order. What we received were 2 meals with exactly the same sauce one had a touch of mango chutney to make it appear different. NOT AT ALL WHAT WE ORDERED!! The other meal had a whole EGG in the centre!! My teenage son was in total disbelief and to say he was disgusted is an understatement. Thankfully, he doesn’t have an egg allergy!! The advertised free starter didn’t arrive (but at this point we couldn’t care). In short, if you can’t cope then DON’T be greedy and take the money for a service you can’t deliver!
We really enjoy dining at this restaurant on weekends - it has become our local favorite. We recently brought our family here and they also had a great experience. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. They have good options for vegetarians, including quorn. The only minor issue is that the staff do not wear face masks, which is different from other restaurants. This may have changed with the new guidelines this week. You can also bring your own alcohol. Overall, we highly recommend this place and the staff.
