It was a great late night snack especially when we had Hurricane Idalia coming through our area, these brave people were still cooking and preparing food for in store customers and online orders. The original gyro and fries were delicious and also the homemade burger, I also had a side order of chicken gizzards which were cooked to perfection. Will be visiting this establishment again in the future for great comfort... View all feedback.
What Kathy Young doesn't like about Sam's Gyros And Seafood:
You used to be my favorite place to deliver from. Love the food but of late the service has hit a record low. With the tempature in the triple digits your guy with the beard couldn't spare a cup of ice for a delivery person. Even McDonald's offers a free drink to drivers delivering food. From now on if I get an order from your store I will decline not only because of that stupid book we have to fill out but you don't... Food is great! Ken was a cool dude working the counter too. Friendly guy. I'd had their original gyro before, but my girlfriend decided to get the shrimp gyro, of which I took a bite. And now I'm probably not going to go back to the original because it was that delicious!! The falafel was pretty dry and seemed bland. I think it was just over cooked or sat too long. Will give it a second try and post updates here. Generally speaking though. Love you guys! Keep up the good work, and please keep staying open late and delivering. You're my go to when I eat late or am feeling lazy haha.
These are the best gyros in the St. Pete area. They always have a good amount of meat and taziki sauce. The onions and tomatoes on the gyro always balance it out too. It's worth getting the combo if you're in the mood for fries, they season theirs very well. Try the boom boom sauce if you want an extra spicy kick! You can sit in the inside if you want, it's very unassuming and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Delicious food, but I expected a bit more food in my box for $20.
Normally, I don't write reviews, but on 9/7/2023, I went in on my break to get lunch for the second time that week. My grilled chicken on my 2 gyros were not fully cooked. I called back and asked if they are cooked from raw, they said yes. I then explained the situation and asked if I could get replacements. I ate half of mine before I realized it, and my brother didn't eat his first batch. I come back with fresh ones. Fully cooked, so we assume all is well. I was not rude to the staff and even joked about working in a kitchen, and understanding mistake happen. 2 days later my brother is in the hospital with food poisoning from Campylobacter bacteria. For those that are not educated, that is a food born illness only found in chicken. Me and my brother only ate chicken once last week, and it was at Sam's. Too bad we can't sue then for my brother's hospital bills. I'm going to an urgent care tonight as my symptoms are getting worse. The hospital had a mandatory health inspection investigator called both of us, and they affirmed our suspicion. I will never eat here again. I was very nice and yall could kill someone doing this. Shame on you Sam's. This is why your other location probably shut down.
