My friends and I were looking to get away from South Tampa for the evening and have a nice seafood dinner, and I am thrilled that we stumbled upon this hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, everything was fantastic. The appetizers were delicious, salads were amazing, and the main course was even better. They also had a great selection of wine and craft beer. Our server, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, was friendly and attentive. I have been searching for a restaurant in the Tampa Bay area that I truly enjoyed, and I have finally found it. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
Wow! What a fantastic evening at Snapper! A big thank you to our server Laura, who truly made our night special. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and just a joy to be around. The food was also amazing, particularly the blue tuna appetizer with a delicious blueberry teriyaki sauce. The tuna was fresh, flavorful, and there was plenty of it. We also tried the blue crab Portobello, which was equally delicious. I wish we had ordered more of everything! While the entree (stuffed grouper) was good, it didn't quite compare to the appetizers. The crème brûlée for dessert was also incredibly tasty. Overall, it was a fabulous dining experience and we are grateful for Laura's exceptional service! Highly recommend Snapper.
We have several food allergies, so when traveling those with allergies safety is most important along with variety. This restaurant is very GF friendly, which is not the case for many in this area. It's clean, and the servers and manager are knowledgeable. We presented a list of allergies and they gave options! The salmon was so good, and I'm not normally a rice person but the coconut rice was tasty too. I did have some gluten options (I don't have the allergy) and the fried clams and ahi tuna were really good. We ate here twice because of the safety! The outside was nice and we had a good breeze.
I can't even begin to describe how disappointed we are in our visit to Snapper's. We were ready to CELEBRATE. We were ready to have a celebratory dinner with Oysters champagne. Lots of Champagne. It started out great! We got Andre what an amazing human being. We LOVED Andre. However, the oysters we ordered came super fast, but not the Champagne. We starting eating the oysters they were awful. Way too much breading, couldn't even find the oyster in there the very first one I ate was so fishy it made me instantly chuck it in my napkin. It was bad. In the meantime, Andre kept running around back fourth, but no Champagne. We finally flagged him down to just cancel it. Long story short, the reason we never got any Champagne was because the manager left the key to the liquor cabinet at home. Oysters appeared to be pre-made then, just baked off. That's not the way it's done folks. And the Manager not having a key to the liquor cabinet during the dinner service is moronic. Will never return.
