Came across this cafe on a Saturday lunchtime whilst in the area with 3 friends. The menu looked interesting and the place was full so we gave it a go. We were not disappointed as the food was delicious. We all tried something different and it was all well cooked and interesting including my lamb salad. Good service even though it was very busy. What User doesn't like about The Living Room:
Met up with a gal pal for brunch last week. Food great, shame service was poor. Waitress was clearly disinterested, non accommodating, e.g. request for milk with cup of tea, was received and response was sarcastic. Attitude was bored and unmotivated. View all feedback.
I understand that cafes and restaurants are facing challenges due to rising costs and staffing issues, so I do not take writing this review lightly. We have always enjoyed the coffee at The Living Room and found the food to be consistently good, though not exceptional, but reasonably priced. Unfortunately, during our last visit, the coffee was disappointing and the food arrived cold. It appeared that there were new staff in the kitchen and a new barista. Hopefully these were just initial issues that will be resolved over time. I sympathize with the difficulties small business owners are facing and will likely try a different cafe next time we are in St Ives. However, we may give The Living Room another chance in a few weeks.
I have visited this restaurant several times and the food is excellent. However, the service can be inconsistent. On one occasion, we had to wait 15 minutes to place our order while others who arrived after us were served immediately.
My husband and I decided to have lunch at this restaurant based on the positive reviews, but it turned out to be a big mistake. Despite the seemingly ample staff, no one came to take our orders and my husband had to flag down a waiter for help. My glass of rose was served unchilled and lacking in flavor, so I had to add ice cubes from my water glass to make it more palatable. My lunch order was mediocre at best, and my companion only ate half of her meal. The restaurant was quite busy, so perhaps we were just unlucky.
One of the best if not the best cafe in St Ives. Conveniently located at the main entrance to St Ives shopping village the Living Room offers indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is excellent for larger groups or coffee after gym. Service is top notch and if you become a regular they basically have your order ready soon free arriving. Great menu, licensed. My go to is the raw salmon poke bowl. Totally delicious!!!!
Gradually working our way through the various cafes in the centre and this the next one. Well as the title says coffee and a delicious slice of frangipane with a custard filling very nice , coffee as is, prompt courteous service very good. Try it out.
