Stopped into the St Andrews Hotel for Sunday lunch. By chance there was a charity event running supported by heaps of cars and bikes. There was a band called the Screaming Eagles playing as well. On this occasion, given just how very busy the pub was, the meals came out slowly. They were fresh and hot.The pub is has a rustic feel to it with lots of bench seats inside and tables and chairs for outside dining. There we... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about St. Andrews Hotel:
This old fashioned pub with its added beer garden is plain, simple and no frills. The service is good and the meals reasonably priced. If you're not expecting the earth then this place will do for a casual meal. View all feedback.
This pub has always been hit and miss, but the last visit was probably the worst ever. With two visitors from Singapore we thought we would go for dinner and band on Saturday night. My steak was was tasteless and tough and the salad wilted mess, ordered rare but got grey!! Cousin from Singapore is veggie he ordered nachos that arrived after every one was finished their meals and we had to give them two reminders. Used to have atmosphere, but not anymore, we have gone there on and off for over twenty years...I think we have now had the last visit absolute waste of money!
Great surprise to find this pub with two excellent outdoor areas as well as a large but cozy interior. we sat the beautiful, raised back deck under the gum trees and birds big to be farther away from the wknd traffic in this...popular opposite. recommend them for a stop. hands down beats warrandyte.
I couldn't ask much more in a rural pub atmosphere. a selection of at least areas to hang out and relax. a great decking out of the back that many species of native birds and their babies hang around in. the trees get a feed from their parents. great to see while I was waiting for my food to arrive. had a chicken parma that above average for what pubs eat. the atmosphere is friendly and very relaxed. service with a smile from all employees. also the hotel cat was very friendly. all in all, if they like a good pub, I would recommend stopping here, and can not wait to go again.
I’d always thought of this pub as being iconic and decided to visit. Hearing it had been recently taken over I expected decent pub grub prepared well and some good live music. Instead I got below average food and a radio blasting in my ear...complete with adverts! I’ve never had to listen to the radio in a pub before- not pleasant! The service was mediocre and the atmosphere was poor. The live act started warming up nearly hours before they were due on stage. Some very old guys who I’m sure have seen better days. C’mon guys up your game. I know there’s little choice in the area but that’s no excuse for poos quality dinners and lousy music. Why not give some fresh new talent a go both on stage and in the kitchen!
Visited the pub after hearing new management had taken over. Was not disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. This place is now the Goto for many locals as other local establishments are now falling way behind in standards. A complete turn around.
