What Gaby Bender doesn't like about Maximilian:
Maximilian belongs to the locals in Speyer. There you get everything from breakfast to cocktail. Often there are theme weeks like Oktoberfest, Palatinate, Spain etc. The card offers a good selection, and both the various drinks and meals are recommended. It is very cozy there too breakfast. The prices are a bit high, probably due to the good name and location. Due to its popularity, it is more often a bit full, tight... View all feedback.
We had Caesar-Salad, Flammkuchen, Weißwein von Dürklin-Wolf and alkfree beer. The dressing at the salad was unfortunately too much and the flame cake was not coppery, but too soft and liquid. The wine was okay. However, the beautiful furnishings and pleasant atmosphere are unbeatable. Operation was fast and polite, but seemed a little superficial.
Bavarian Week! Great deals! Nice staff. New wine pancakes! We were more than satisfied! Wisswurst with brezz and sweet mustard! TOP
Maximilian is called Café Bar and Restaurant and is located in the centre of Speyer in the immediate vicinity of the Altpörtel. Despite the fresh outdoor temperature, we sit on one of the berths in front of the restaurant, as it was windless and ready for the frescoed ceiling. My wife chose a classic Elseese flame cake (8,05 EUR). I ordered 2 slices of acid cream and one piece of peasant bread (10,10 EUR). Since the big juice choirs were harmless for sayings and write 5 EUR, we were pleased with a 0.33 liter bottle of Erdinger Weissbräu alcohol-free (2.95 EUR). The waiting times for drinks and food were pleasantly short. This was also not a special performance, because you only had to take the beer from the refrigerator and heat the food. The sauces tasted well, the sour wort was taken out of the cannula and only briefly warmed without spices and usual ingredients. The flame cake also looked like a cook or a cooking hand. Overall, food, drinks and service were not bad, but also not invited to a second visit because there was no clear individual handwriting. Unfortunately, as this is often the case with locals in places heavily visited by tourists.
Maximilian is located in the street of the same name in downtown Speyer. It is a fairly large place with lots of seats, there is a smoker, a non-smoking and an outdoor area. The map offers a very good selection, you can also eat quite well here. Unfortunately, prices are usually quite high. A good value for money here offers breakfast, which is really rich.

Also the breakfast card leaves only a few wishes open and the atmosphere offers city flair in the otherwise very tranquil and cozy Speyer.
