What Gilly Smith doesn't like about The Mayflower:
Fish and chips weren't up to the usual standard.. They no longer seem to attend the tables and take your orders.. As a fairly regular customer the service wasn't very good.. .. View all feedback.
This charming pub and restaurant is located at the end of Leigh Creek and has won the Campaign for Real Ale award in 2014, 2015, and 2016. It is a fantastic local spot that is child-friendly, offering menus specially designed for kids under 12. In the front, you can grab some take away fish and chips or gelato, while the back houses the pub and restaurant. The outdoor area is a peaceful football-free zone, and there is free fast wifi available.
Whilst walking the dog I decided to pop into The Mayflower pub for swift pint. It was my first visit and pleased to discover a dog friendly pub with equally friendly staff locals. A great selection of well kept fine ales. The first time, but certainly not my last. Well recommended.
Classic old waterside pub with simple but well cooked and presented food. Best fish and chips around.
