We went on recommendation for Sunday Carvery and weren't disappointed! There was a good choice of meats lamb, turkey or pork and the display of vegetables and trimmings was very impressive. The portions of meat were generous and the help yourself vegetables were beautifully cooked and very tasty. Very good value. Tables were nicely placed with sufficient space between them giving a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were... View all feedback.
What IanPLancashire doesn't like about Halfway House Inn Country Lodge:
I was staying in the accommodation here which was very poor, see separate review. I ate my evening meal in the pub. I went for the sweet chilli pork which was decent and a fair price. I had three pints and the barmaid used my same glass for each. I thought it was common now to serve each pint in a clean glass. View all feedback.
Amazing! Truly Amazing.. I found this place on line and only intended to stay for 1 night and ended up staying for almost 4 weeks. I have never stayed in a venue before where the owner and his staff treat Everyone like family its a magical experience and I seriously recommended to you. Excellent home cooked food. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great parking. I 'd go there again in a moment. Only downside is pulling out onto the road when leaving, but, that 's not their fault. Thanks for the best experience.
We booked two rooms through booking.com one for us and our three dogs, the other for our daughters. The rooms were next to each other and handy for the dogs, as they led out to the car park/lake and walking area. The rooms were basic, but comfortable and fairly clean. People walked right past our windows/rooms to access the inn, but we had blinds, so it was fairly private. We ate in the bar area. The menu was simple and food was ok. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great. Handy location for Yeovil. We would consider staying again if we returned to the area , but it could do with a face lift and a refresh.
Pre booked a table for 8 by ringing a few days before no trouble for them, Arrived and it had been set up really well for us. Choice of 4 meats and lots of veg everything was extremely good. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and I would recommend Sunday lunch there to anyone.
We visited over bank holiday weekend as we were visiting family close by before going onto Dorset. We arrived and were taken to our room overlooking the car park and we were shocked, as my father in law was with us we didn't want to make a fuss.
We went here to meet some friends who had travelled down from Manchester. The service wasn't great, the woman behind the bar wasn't the most welcoming of people. We were their for lunch so it wasn't busy at all. They brought the food out at different times so some of us had to wait and by then it had gone cold this goes for sides as well as mains. The food was pretty average. One of us had a cheeseburger that might as well of had a block of cathedral city cheese dropped on it. It was far too much cheese and the attempt to melt some of it turned out awful. Will not be going here again
