If you're anywhere near here, stop for some of the best food in a beautiful little diner. Stopped in one Morning after staying in a motel nearby on a long trip, Sherri was just starting the griddle and chatted with us striking up a genuinely friendly conversation. The eggs and sausage were great and the toast is amazing. You won't regret leaving the highway for a bite. View all feedback.
What Priscilla Fahey doesn't like about Sherri's Diner:
I was there for a late breakfast with a friend 2 days ago. What a mistake! It took OVER AN HOUR to receive our omelettes which came loaded with onions when we had specifically requested no onions. The interior of Sherri's smelled of grease. Not going back. View all feedback.
The restaurant had been recently redecorated, and updated. The smell of cooking no longer clings to you, and is a much better experience. Food is still great, service is still friendly, and portions are still huge. They are trying to eliminate the use of single...use plastic, so straws are now paper, jam is portioned out into paper cups, and although they have not fully accomplished their goal, is still is progress. She will try to accommodate dietary restrictions by bringing in honey, or dairy free creamers etc. but this is not a specialty restaurant. It is not wheelchair accessible.
We stopped in for a quick breakfast. I had read they make their own bread and it was in fact delicious and fresh. The French toast is also made with this bread and the portion was huge. Just one negative, they only take cash and luckily I had just enough.....who carries cash now a days. Plus I did not see that stated anywhere before ordering.
What a find, Sherri was an amazing host. Perfectly poached eggs with awesome home made bread... breakfast heaven....!
Just wanted to give a shout out to Sherri's diner in South river I live in Toronto and travel upnorth often throughout the year. I make it a point to stop by the diner everytime I pass through. Great food! Love there homemade soups and the highlander sandwich. Most of all the staff provides exceptional service.
We finished up a 3 day canoe trip and needed some nourishment before we made our way back to Toronto through the Canada day weekend traffic. This was a great find. Great quality fresh bread sandwiches and the salads were exactly what we needed. They easily accommodated any changes and were as friendly as you can get. Highly recommended!
